Princess 1/2 Marathon & ESPN Weekend

We are hoping to go to Disney from 2/24/11 thru 3/2/2011. I noticed that both the Princess Marathan and ESPN are that weekend (2/25-2/27). I checked touring plans and they have predicted crowd levels of 6 & 7's for the weekend, which we could handle for a few days. Has anyone been there during this weekend? Are there certain parks to avoid during those days? Does the marathon actually run through the parks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hollywood Studios will draw a larger than normal crowd on ESPN days, however the marathon is actually held early in the morning and is more of an issue of road closures in the morning, so your commute to the parks my take a little longer. If I remember rightly from this year the marathon went through MK and EPCOT, but runners are well away by park open. Attendance wise its usually about medium in the parks.

Actually read today that the ESPN Weekend 5K is moved to March 5th which would make ESPN the weekend 3/3-3/6 which kills me because I already booked a trip for it based on previous years schedules. I have a problem with the timing of the announcement for this event as every year it gets later and later.Still nothing official on the Espn site, but the wdw Running site gets the info out much sooner.

I'm running this to and just booked up that week - We are getting in on the Feb 25th and staying to the March 6. I am sure that weekend will be busy. Especially since EMH at MK is on Sunday after the race is over. But I have read elsewhere that the rest of the week shouldn't be too crowded.

According to runDisney the ESPN 5K is March 5, so ESPN the weekend is that weekend...

ESPN The Weekend/2011

When do you think they will officially announce the dates for 2011????? It is only 2 & 1/2 months away......

People have to make arrangements!!!!!....We went there the last 3 years & it was the last weekend in Feb.......Now there's talk that it may be the first weekend in March.......Hope they'll announce it soon.....I know @ least 3 families that are waiting before they book their trip.........
