How do they charge by age does anyone know? I wanted to go but we have a 3 year old and it seems insane to pay for a room of 4 and she is just three.. what is the border line for teens to adults also?

Disney has age classifications that they use differently for different things: Adult, Junior, Child and Infant.
For park tickets, there are just Adult and Child. "Child" is Age 3-9, "Adult" is Age 10 and up.
For hotels, there is no additional per-person charge for anyone under the age of 18 when staying in a room with an adult. (Rooms are priced double-occupancy, with extra per-night charges for more than 2 adults)
When you're booking a trip, especially a package, Disney throws in a third phrase, "Junior". Junior refers to someone who is Age 10-17. They'll pay for an Adult park ticket, but not as an extra adult at the hotel.
Disney uses it to try and keep people with a child 10-17 from thinking that because they are not an adult at the hotel, they can use a Child ticket for the parks.
Lastly, an Infant is any child under age 3. They have no charge for hotel and get free admission to the parks.

That one of the deciding factors for my trip this year - I wasn't planning on going back until DD19 graduated from college. My nephew is 9 so I'm taking advantage of the lower prices on admission and dining to take him and his sister to what will probably be their only ever trip to WDW (unless of course I hit the Powerball tomorrow night!!)
