Price hike coming 10/9

Anyone willing to pay $200 a day (park/ fast line upgrades) would certainly pay $250, so my thought is to let them pay it.

Anyone willing to pay $800/night for the hotel would certainly pay $1000/night, again let them pay it.

Anyone who can't afford that and wants to go and put $4000 on their credit card, let them put $5500 and pay it off with interest and struggle.

I noticed over the years that their are people that love Disney so much they will pay anything to go and I think Disney should capitalize on that (same way a bar capitalizes on an alcoholic). There are people like myself that even if Disney offered me my AP that I gave up in 2016 for $430/yr now, I still would not go back...

They should capitalize on those that they can... so up the price...

I dont know what other hotels charge but i cant see you saving much if any money staying elsewhere vs any of the all star resorts when factoring it all in not to mention the convenience factor where time is money as well…
If you aren’t parking a car the Wyndham can be cheaper than All Stars on Priceline - it’s also right across the street from springs and an easy walk to the Saratoga Springs bus too.

Depending on how you travel, being across the street from springs is very nice especially for non-park days.

So your wasting your time on a message board about a place that you gave up going to 8 years ago and "would not go back?"

I will take your word for it regarding price and walking distance but for my knowledge what are we talking about? $20 a night? How long is walk?

For only $189 a day plus tax, you can help Bob Iger return value to investors and help bring the stock back up over $100.

Act now and get free crushing credit card debt as well as a personal kick in the crotch from Josh Damaro.

Just out of curiosity, how are people currently affording Disney world vacations? I’m assuming the vast majority either live locally in Florida, or make combined incomes over 100k -150k.

For families making less than 100k how are y’all doing it? I haven’t been able to go on a vacation in 2 years because I just can’t afford life anymore.
I live 20 minutes from the parks in an old/cheap (for Orlando) apartment. Work seasonal for Disney. I make nowhere near 6-figures. Single, no kids.

Was that cheaper than a Disney Resort or do you prefer Hilton properties?
If I remember right the all stars was going to be ~$100 cheaper after you factor in resort fees, parking, ect.

Overall we went with the Hilton for a few reasons:
  • We already decided on a rental car regardless so that price wasn't a factor. However, a Disney bus with a stroller/toddler can be quite tough so we would drive anyway. Thus, Disney transportation didn't matter to us.
  • We really like Disney springs and will probably go there at least twice during our trip, the ability to walk there is a huge perk to us
  • No way to guarantee a king room at the all-stars. Not a deal breaker, but still a plus for the Hilton when a second bed isn't needed (he still sleeps in a portable crib)
  • Nicer/bigger looking hotel rooms (380 sqft vs 260sqft)
  • Nicer looking lobby/grab and go food options. Not just 1 big cafeteria
  • No "hike" to the food options, like you might at the value resorts. Hotel is more compact
  • Kiddy pool actually looks better at Hilton (big pool doesn't matter for us)
  • My son is young enough (he'll be about 21 months) that the big props of the all stars/ whimsy of the resort/room don't really matter.
Maybe I'm wrong and I will end up hating it and never staying there again!

In the past, I've stayed at the Beach Club, Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin, All stars, Pop Centry, Universal's Royal Pacific, and the Fairfield Lake Buena Vista. So, the Hilton will be something new to try!

If everyone else is enjoying their steak, it’s because everyone else can afford the steak. That means it’s not that the steak is too expense, it’s you can’t afford it
There are a lot fewer "everyones" because everything is so much more expensive today than 5 years ago. A 12 pack of soda at Publix is 5.8% more today than last October.

That's why Costco and Sams continues to be booming. It is more cost effective to buy in bulk. And if you really wanted to save more $$ it requires a change in mindset. Forget the soda and drink ice cold tap water.

Steaks are expensive, some can still afford steaks, some are priced out.
WDW is expensive, some can still afford WDW, some are priced out.

Fact is, folks neither need steaks or WDW.

The walk from the Wyndham to Earl of Sandwich is about 5-7 minutes including going through security (don't ask me how I know). The walk from Earl of Sandwich to the SSR Congress Park bus stop is another 5-7 minutes depending on how fast you walk. So figure, 10-15 minutes walk. It's really not bad. Candidly, if you're going to MK, it might take you around the same amount of time to do this versus driving since you would still have to park at the TTC, take the parking tram (or walk a lot) then take the boat or monorail, versus the bus from SSR which drops you off right at the park.

Okay so 15 minutes is not bad imo if say adults but if you are traveling with young kids can be going that route… i just dk if the cost savings are really worth it. Like what are we looking at for a 5 night stay? $100? $150? Best case? It your margins are that thin for a vacation. Probably best you dont go and save it.
