When i was walking around Epcot yesterday, I decided I want to start collecting the pressed pennies. Does anyone else collect? Do the designs change often?

Is there somewhere online that tells were the various penny press machines are all over WDW?

The pressed pennies make excellent and cheap souvenirs.
You can buy a vinyl holder for them.

They are everywhere. Parks, resorts, etc.
Part of the fun is finding the machines.
The machines change from time to time.

I have pressed pennies from 'Dixie Landings' which was the former name for Port Orleans Riverside.
It's good to get ones for the attractions and the celebrations since those can change over time also.
The designs on the pennies can change.

A pocket full of pennies and quarters provides a lot of fun with the pressed penny machines.
Good luck.

We started collecting for my then 6 yr old on his first visit 7 years ago and last year on my 6, 5 and 2 yr olds first visit we started a collection for them as well. Started saving all of our quarters and pennies for about 6 months prior to our trip so when we went we were able to fill a whole book for each child. A fun and inexspensive souveneir for the kids and they had a blast looking for the machines everywhere.

I just started collecting in May. A CM at a shop at the Boardwalk showed me an official current "Disney List" but said I could not keep it. It would've taken me forever to look through it. I'm sure there's numerous sites that document them, like the one Andrew mentioned.

My daughter started collecting them YEARS ago at WDW. We get some at all kind of locations (not just WDW) She's gotten several from NewOrleans - we are very close (2 hours away). It is a very good way to remember all the places you've been, even if it is just a day trip.

I collect them obsessively while in WDW...well until pins caught my attention. I know there's a list out there somewhere. I had one printed and ready to go years back but again the pin thing sucked me in. lol

I also collect the pressed pennies. I always grab quarters and shiny pennies for each trip. They do make a really inexpensive souvenier. Although I hate how I'll find a GREAT design and then it says Pressed Quarter...geez!!

I don't know how often they change the designs. I don't think they are on a set schedule or anything, it is very random as I've seen some change and seen some stay the same forever.

I used to collect them. A whole book full from the late 1990s and the Millennium. However, I stopped. Probably because it became somewhat expensive.

And now when I think about it, some do not change at all. I believe in EPCOT, in Mouse Gear, by the current WWYC area, is one of a surprised Figment from 2005 (quarter styled). And at the shops at International Gateway and the AA feature retro EPCOT Center pressed pennies. Those are some I have. ;)

There is a list of current machines and locations that is maintained on the Disney Corporate site - or whatever it is called

I have had it printed out (and given to me) a number of times. most of the time by front desk CM's

It is in no way a nicely formated list, and it is a LONG list (20+ pages) of course it could be shorter if it was formatted for printing.

Maybe they did not want you to keep it because it takes so long to print.

My sister has been collecting them since she was 3 y/o! She is 24 now and when I go I always bring her back a few to add to her collection. She keeps them in photo albums. There are for sure some designs that have not changed for years.

This gave me a great idea! My kids got some of them last year but I think a book with the ones you get each year is a great way to have an inexpensive keepsake besides just pics!:sohappy:
