Presidents Weekend/Valentines Day

I had no idea the MK would be so crowded on Presidents weekend...the blogs and message boards sure don't lie. Was anyone at MK on Feb 14? I was stunned. 1 hour wait for pirates, fast passes sold out at Space Mountain, 100 min wait at standby for Thunder, even the treehouse had a line! The line for haunted mansion wrapped all the way around to the ramp next to the Riverboat pavillion. TTA even had a wait which is usually walk on. Had difficulty moving around in the throngs..but the weather was perfect. No signs of recession at all...

Yeah...that's why we stay away that weekend - were there a few years ago and could barely move around, let alone do anything.

We'll be there this coming weekend, though!

I just got back from a week long trip to WDW. All 4 parks were packed. There was a 40 minute wait at one point for Imagination. Haven't seen that in a while.

yes it was hard to believe. I just missed the ball on this one. The fast passes for space mountain were gone by mid afternoon, despite the park being open to 12 with EMH till 3 am. Even the small concession stands had long lines. It beacame impossible to move through the main street area when the parades hit.

it didn't help that Mardi Gras fell on Presidents' Day Weekend this year. Each event makes for a busy time, and together just makes for that many more people all at once.

You have to understand that many northern schools have Winter Break then. Plus locals have some time off. Going over any holiday is going to be busy.

The Daytona 500 was also this weekend, in addition to Valentine's Day & Presidents Day. My parents drove in from Daytona and called me to ask me if I knew why it was so packed. They thought February would be empty. They forgot about Presidents Day, they thought it was next weekend.

[FONT=&quot][/FONT]We activated our season passes for this weekend… It was amazingly crowded, but Extra Magic Hours were from 12-3 & there weren’t any lines at all for that
