Hi everyone--it's been a long time since I have visited the boards. I am 4 months pregnant and we are planning a trip to WDW in May of this year--I'll be 7 months pregnant. I know some rides are off-limits, but we just can't escape our annual trip in May--it's too much a part of us. Has anyone had experience of being pregant/traveling with someone who has been pregnant? How much does the trip change? Thanks so much for your replies--we are sooo excited to get back to MK and AKL!!!

Congratulations! I have been there and done that too. We couldn't give up our annual pilgrimage to Disney either. Of course what rides you can and can't ride are pretty self explanatory. May is big time HOT so make sure you always have water in your hand to stay hydrated. Take breaks in the afternoon. We didn't go back to our hotel, we went and hung out at the Grand Floridian's lobby and pretended to be independently wealthy (LOL). At least it was air conditioned and very relaxing for a little while.

We tried to get to the parks early and wander around riding what I could then took the afternoon break and went back to the parks after sundown. Got good spots for the parades, big scoops of ice cream and watched all the people with kids and dreampt that would be us very soon!

We are going in March with our 3 kids now (6, and twin 2 year olds). I love seeing everything through them now! My hubby and I can get a little teary when we first get there. Good luck!

Congrats! May is a great time for WDW. 7 months should be fine, I actually went at 32 weeks, pushing it a bit, but it was a great time.

Don't worry, you will not be the only pregnant woment there. Some of the thrill rides will be off limit for this trip, but there is so much more to do anyway.

Have a great trip. Enjoy your time and vacation.

Pregnant at WDW

My DH surprised me with a Mother's Day trip to WDW last May and I was about 7 months along too. One big difference I noticed being pregnant from other visits is that I really couldn't keep the same speedy pace I used to in the parks. Plan to go slower and build in lots of breaks in your day. Treat yourself to a table service meal whenever possible (AC and free refills on drinks). Going in the morning and evenings is a great tip, May is hot and if you're heat sensitive AT ALL with this pregnancy, you'll be glad you did. Wear comfortable shoes! Good advice for any visit to the parks but you'll really need them when pregnant. And on a sentimental note, if you know the baby's name, consider getting their first pair of Mouse Ears with the name on it. (You can get Baby "your last name" if you don't know). It's a really neat momento of the trip and a great first baby gift for your newest little Disney fan.

Congrats and enjoy your trip! Best wishes and lots of pixie dust for the rest of your pregnancy!:animwink: :sohappy:

I went when i was 32 weeks along , in september,,right in the middle of the heat and humidity...i really didnt have any problems...get some good walking shoes, and make sure at nite to either soak your feet in the tub or take a nice bath..or even soak them in the pool..!!I always walk faster than anybody else ...and being pregnant didnt slow me down one bit. Yes there are some rides that you really should'nt go on, but remember they'll be other times to do them!! I also had great luck on the buses...people were always willing to give their seats up for me..especially at the end of the nite...But yes definately go..have fun..eat a turkey leg!!!oh and congrats!!!!!

We made two trips while my wife was pregnant and she said after the last one that she would not go back until she could ride! Of course it is important to note that my wife loves all the thrill rides and when she could not do that she was not pleased! Just depends on what you like to do I guess!

I forget to add that we went to VB(DVC, Vero Beach Resort) once when I was 26 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. It was the 1st week of May 2004. That is a great vacation pregnant. It was really fun. Maybe consider a side trip over there to have Disney Magic, but also be very relaxed.

we were just there indec & the wife at the time was 6 months. everyhting was just fine. it was kind of nice cause the kids could not ride some of the rides so she watched them. oh one thing if you want to ride soarin you can. it does not throw you around or drop you. it is a smooth ride. atleast this is my opinion

We went in 2000 when my wife was pregnant though not that far along as you will be. The main issue for her was she was very sick. She only started feeling sick the week before we left so it was kind of late in the game to cancel. She did just ok. But everyone is different. If she was not sick the trip would have been very similar to what we do now, just a handful of rides omitted.

You will have a great time! I went one month before I delivered and didn't have any problems. Of course, you will be limited on what you can ride, but if you have small children, you're limited anyway. Be sure to drink plenty of water and don't get overheated.

Hey olive10tails! We are going in a couple of weeks, and I'm 3 months along. I went a few years ago - 4 months along w/ my second - and it's a little bit of a bummer not being able to ride all that you want to. But, it's still a great trip. I think that it's nearly impossible to not have a wonderful experience at Disney! It will be different, but I'm sure you guys will enjoy yourselves!
