Pre-Purchase Photopass Photos?

I'm heading down to the world in just about a year now for my honeymoon:sohappy:, and was wondering if you can pre-purchase photo packages before your trip. It would be nice knowing that I have so many photos pre-paid for when we get off rides and find cool spots!

Thanks

You can always pre-purchase the CD and then have all of the pictures you want.

The Photopass website will also have their special offers available. Check out what they have and see if you like anything.
They don't usually have packages like one 8 by 10 and two 5 by 7s for $30, type thing.

If you "like" Disney's Photopass on Facebook, there is a link to pre-purchase the CD for like $99 (normally $149). Seems like a pretty good deal.

Thank you for the heads up, I just became a fan. That is 30% off.

Has anyone ever purchased the CD? Is it worth $99? I don't remember seeing alot of Photopass people around during my last trip, except by the park Icons and entrances.

I got the offer for it and am glad i didn't purchase it..we only ended up with 50 photos for $99 (pre-trip price) and some of them weren't very good..my dad took much better pics than some of the photo pass people..now if you have the time to stop at most of the photopass people then it might be worth it, but for us I am glad we didn't..

We purchase the cd. We usually get like 200 pictures and some are good and some aren't the best. But we like it for the special photos you can get (with the characters in the shot etc.) and also for the unposed shots they sometimes get with the kids when meeting characters.

It's a good way to get family shots from people who have set up specifically for that shot.

We had one person that had my daughter pose so Tinkerbell could "fly into her hand"..it's not on our photo pass, so I guess that means it didn't come through..we also had issues with taking a LONG time to get through teh parks..my husband and I said that if it was just us and the kids we probably would have hit more of them..

I pre ordered the CD for our last trip. We ended up with a couple hundred pictures. One the photographer had my daughter cup her hands and when we saw the picture, Simba was laying in her hands. Another one they had me, my husband and daughter pointing at the ground and Stitch was breaking up out of the street. We had some good ones and some not so good but that's how my pics come out too:lol:

I know one ride photo can be added to your photo pass but I'm not sure which one. Test Track pops into my head. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I think the CD is worth the money if you stop a lot to get your picture taken.

Refund

An important thing to know about the pre-order special is you can get it REFUNDED! If you don't like your pictures after your visit, they will give you the money back.

As for the pictures, we thought they were amazing and are doing photopass again. We split it among 4 adults so it was manageable and we had hundreds of photos.

BUT where did you get hundreds of photos? Do you have lots of character pictures? We dont wait on those lines so it doesnt seem worth it

If you think you may want it, it is best to pre-purchase for the discount. You can always cancel and get a full refund.

Some people have over 1000 pictures on them, others have 10. The only way I will be in a photo is if it is through PP. My wife is horrible at picture taking.

The photopass disk is a great value. Do a search here for "photopass" threads and you will see lots of opinions about it. I have posted in the past where there are a lot of great spots around the parks that you can get your pic done thats not at character m&g's or park entrances. There are also "magic shots" you can ask the photographers to do (some do them, some don't) and thats where you get Tink in your hand, balloons in your hand, baby Simba in your arms, Stitch popping out of the ground, Micky, MInnie, Stitch or Lilo on a bench next to you, etc. These are all images they electronically impose over the shot before you see it. They make for really fun, interesting photos! My avatar pic here is me and my DH with Mickey and friends "Soarin'" over us at Epcot! I love that one! Anyway, we have a 2 year old who adores the characters, so alot of our photopass pics are character pics, but for sure you can load it up with awesome pics at lots of locations around the world. Even at the Disney hotels at times they have photographers set up to take nice, formal pics on your pass. I definitely recommend it. We have gotten 554 on one disk in the past and we just went last week and got almost 200, but we are going back with friends in a couple weeks and are using the same photopass. We are going to break our record I think!

When you think about how much ONE picture costs and compare it to pre-buying the disk, its totally worth it. If you went ahead and picked out 4 or 5 pics you really, really liked and bought them, you may as well have bought the whole disk and gotten ALL of them for the same price.

The $99.00 pre purchase price I thought ended over a year ago. Currenty the discount is still available for DVC members only through member services and can be order starting 30 days out from your check in day until 1 day before.

The current price for the Photo Pass CD is $149.00. The site allows you to edit your photo's by croping, or adding in custom borders supplied by the website. I have personally taken a single photo and have added differant borders and ended up with multiple pics save on the disc. The service is definatelyu worth it, but yo must make sure to stop and have you picture taken at every opportunity.

I stand slightly corrected. He is info from a press release

Several months ago Disney altered its pre-purchase discount program for the PhotoPass image CD and Disney Vacation Club members were temporarily left unable to take advantage of this perk. That oversight has since been rectified.
Earlier this fall Disney eliminated a long-standing offer to receive a discount on the PhotoPass CD if ordered prior to the start of one's vacation. The intent was to transition the PhotoPass discount from a perk available to all park guests to a benefit available exclusively to those staying at Walt Disney World resort hotels.
Shortly after the discount website was removed, guests with cash reservations began receiving unique PIN codes which allowed them to pre-order the CD at a discount. Until now, DVC members were left without a comparable discount program.
Effective immediately, Disney Vacation Club members can contact Member Services within 45 days of their scheduled arrival date to obtain a promo code good for $50 off the purchase of the PhotoPass CD (normally $150.) After contacting Member Services, a unique PIN code will be emailed to the member which is valid for the upcoming trip. Note that the promo code is unique to each member and can only be used once.
For additional information contact DVC Member Services.

The pre-purchase offer is still available to anyone. Here is the link http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

It's hard to find and not directly available through the disney photopass site. This link was found through mousesavers.com. Everytime I buy it, I click the link through them and it takes me right to the discount offer page. I select to put it in my cart and checkout. After paying, it gives me a photopass disk credit and then after my trip, I load my photopass pics and after all my edits, I add them to my cart and choose the photo disk. It applies my credit and all I pay then is a small shipping fee.

Great info. That site went down last year, because I have it saved in my favorites and at the time it simply did not exist. It now however works again which is awesome.

They did change for the process for a period of time last year. They did change it so that you needed to have booked a stay on property, and you would then gt an email with a link from Disney Destinations. Since DVC stays weren't booked thorugh DD, they didn't get the email, leading to the exchange you posted earlier. A few months back they reverted to the general link that anyone can use again.

Regarding value of preordering the CD, last trip I think we had 5 or 6 park days, and after crops and borders, they ended up having to send me 6 cd's worth of pictures.

You can find a full rundown on Photopass at http://www.stitchkingdom.com/disneysphotopass/ Hands down the best photopass information site out there.

You can also book a private photopass session at a few of the resort locations. We did this back in June at Beach Club. The session was about 30 minutes and the photographer took us around the lobby, went outside on the patio and along the sand. There were about 95 pics in all. This is not included in the park photopass options. but I felt it was worth the extra price (range of $50-$100) You do get some prints and a cd of the private session with the top package. We had some great shots of the family and of my 4 yr old and 7 month old. You can book 30 days in advance by calling the resort and they can transfer you to the photopass desk.
