Pre-ordering PhotoPass

Hey ya'll. We're thinking or ordering either the PhotoPass or PhotoPass + for our trip in 2 weeks. How does it work exactly? How do you get your CD? Is it just like normal when you enter your photopass cards(s)? How do they know you pre-ordered the cd? So many questions, we just want to make sure we go about it the right way!!

We need time for things to happen.
Hey D - I was looking into this too, but decided against it based on the bang for buck it was offering us.
The driving factor for me, was actually being in the photos of our family vacations so I can prove I was there.
But after all the dough we dropped on MNSSHP, etc. I couldn't justify it.
I'm going on the cheap and giving my camera to the photopass photographers whenever we see them and doing it that way.

Someone else will chime in that has details...but I think you have to do it a few weeks in advance as it takes a week or two after you sign up to get a voucher in the mail!

Hope you got time!

Yeah, we're not 100% sure what we want to do. We're mostly getting it for the Halloween party so we can add all the cool borders and stuff to it. We'd split it between 3 people so it wouldn't be too bad (still expensive) plus with the Photopass + I know you can get your on-ride photos and we're dining at Ohana for breakfast and they are one of the dining locations where you can use it, too. We will see!

Our friends pre-ordered it last year while we were all at WDW, they pre-ordered it online, and apparently set an account (or something of that nature) up, and while on vacation just got all the photos done as you normally would keeping the photopass cards, and entered them when they got back home and ordered the cd then once they added borders and whatnot.
Can't 100% tell you if they got a voucher or not as were in the UK, might just be a case of setting the account up + such for us UK folk? Hope this kinda helps :)

I have been debating getting it too, for the same reason as snookie, to prove that my husband and I go on vacation together! I keep going back and forth about the added cost. I know that only certain character dining photos are included. I am not sure if ours are (chef Mickey, h & v, and crystal palace). I am thinking no on the last 2 since the characters visit you at your table.

Let me know what you decide!!!

I still don't even know where one goes to preorder PhotoPass+. I keep seeing thread after thread on it's value (or lack there of in some folk's opinion) but have yet to figure out where you order it. LOL!

Here is what dining locations offer it:

1900 Park Fare; 'Ohana (breakfast only); Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show; Chef Mickey’s; Cinderella’s Royal Table; Tusker House (breakfast only); Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue; and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

And here are the attractions you can get photos on:

Space Mountain; Splash Mountain; Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin; The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror; Rock ‘n Roller Coaster; Expedition Everest; and Dinosaur

So you can get pics from quite a few things. I know attraction pics are $15 a pop if you want to buy one.

I went to google and typed in "Disney photopass pre-order" and a link popped up!

I have only pre ordered the regular CD, not the +.

I logged into my account on the website and ordered and paid for the CD.
I went to WDW and took a bunch of pics.
I came back and added those card numbers to my account.
I played with borders for a few days. (there is a time limit)
Then when I went to add a CD to my cart, there was a line cancelling out payment because I prepaid.
I paid for shipping only at that time.
CD came a week or so later.

If you preorder PP+, you need to do so 2 weeks prior to your arrival(I think). They send you a voucher that you have to present at one of the photo shops to get the PP+ card, at least that is how it worked when i preordered PP+ this past August. PP+ was worth it for us(all 12 of us). It paid for itself after a dinner at Chef Mickey's and a few runs through space and splash mountains.

There is a code included in a separate CD of stock photos they send you as part of the package. Enter the code when ordering the CD.

The preordered PP+ CD also includes photos taken on regular, random PP cards that are entered into your photo pass account.

I think we're just going to go with the normal photopass this time around and save photopass + for when we take our cousin for her first trip next year. We will have more dining experiences at places that are listed so it would make more sense! thanks for all your help!! :)

I ordered on Friday and got it in the mail today. It comes with a cd full of pictures from around Disney (more than 400) and a voucher that you trade in at a photopass location in the World for your actual photopass+ card. Then once you get home you can order the cd of all of your photos (which is already paid for)

You can do it!

If available I would get it for our next trip. We used the photopass a lot and would have used it more if we had better weather the first 2 days of our trip. Just would have worked great for us.

I think I'm going to do this for my honeymoon. I have been thinking about it and I really want to have as many pictures as I can from it. After looking at the prices for wedding photographers this seems nearly free haha.
