Does anyone know if the PPD Skin Test is the same as the TB Skin Test? I need the PPD skin test for college but if it is the same thing then I can just take the TB test I think. does anyone know that also? Thank you
tigsmom said:The PPD or mantoux test is a TB test. Its different from the tine test most people are used to (where your skin is pricked with a small circle of small needles) in the fact that the antigen is injected under the skin using a single needle. It will be read after 48-72 hrs.
Its a more accurate test and is being used more often these days.

dreamteacher said:My Dr. does not do it. so I am going to go tomarrow to the San Antonio Metro Health Department, but I also have to have a Health Care Provider's signature will they do that or do I have to go to my dr. for that.
not that I know of.tigsmom said:They will sign it for you, the doctor or nurse who administers the test is the health care provider. Do you need a full physical? They can take care of that for you too.
