This storm can bring one good thing to Disney. If park attendance is low for the next Disney quarterly earning call,...Iger will now have a great reason to give the investors as to why:

"The recent Florida storm had a negative impact on park attendance and we have no control of that. Otherwize, everything is doing really well...next question please..."

We leave for WDW tomorrow.... obviously when we choose to travel this time of year we know storms are a possibility - we have Party tickets for Tuesday and that would be the one big disappointment for me if the weather then was bad enough to cancel the entertainment, etc (I know, thinking selfishly)

It's only natural to feel that way. I hope it all works out for you guys and you have a great time!

If you look at the more detailed map on weather.com, metro Orlando is not in the cone. That does not mean that Orlando will not experience bad weather though. I've also see the cone shift before, so it's not out of the woods yet. These storms can cover the whole state with sporadic rain, wind, lightning, and tornadoes. If the parks stay open, expect bad weather.

All that said, I'm happy my plants should be getting some relief. I'm horrible at watering them myself. lol Hope it's not bad, the worst of the season is still ahead, most likely.

It hasn't rained here for the last 5 days except for about a 5 minute sprinkle Wednesday afternoon. We're headed back to NY today, hope you guys get to see the full show Tuesday. Last year we saw the rain version and it doesn't compare at all.

No
The latest track has it coming over eastern NC Friday morning; naturally right during the first week of school 😂

The bad news is there won't be any Publix Hurricane Cakes. Seriously it's an expected phenomenon that occurs yearly.

It is as silly as Dairy Queen stopping their signature cupped treat due to Blizzards.

There was actually a very serious opinion piece written in The Miami Herald after Hurricane Andrew that advocated for the University of Miami to change their team name from the Hurricanes. The team got that name because the opening of the university was delayed due to a hurricane.

As have rollercoasters.

That is interesting. Everyone has an opinion. Hurricane Andrew was a doozy after a time of nothing, and Ian was even more destructive and widespread. 2004's Triple Hurricane season year would be in-between there.

Hurricanes are powerful and can be deadly, but Publix not selling a cake or a mascot having a paper written about change should not mean much.

It could be argued that it is far more offensive that Publix sells alcohol and tobacco products than the names or representation of a storm.

Let's stop allowing anything that could harm a human on a cake. I take weather very seriously and prep well for it, but the refusal to have something that looks like swirling clouds on a cake is odd.
