'Dead men tell no tales' audio > any mist screen could ever hope to be. So haunting and sets the tone for the rest of the pre-drop portion of the ride.
The site that shall not be named just tweeted not too long ago that the mist waterfall effect at the beginning of Pirates has been turned off and is gone for good, with audio being restored to “Dead men tell no tales.” Haven’t seen this reported anywhere else, can anyone confirm?
I’m also curious what this means for the rest of the ride, it seems like the movie references are being phased out slowly, starting with the mermaids.
I wouldn't mind if they kept one Jack Sparrow AA and then returned most of the ride dialogue to what it used to be instead of every line being about Captain Jack Sparrow
Good riddance. Stinking thing worked about 1/2 of the time.
Could just be me.... Mermaids worked at first, could not effectively be maintained. Mist Screen worked at first, could not effectively be maintained. Is there a pattern here? I suspect WDW is having a hard time recruiting the PEOPLE that get a combo of mechanics, electronic control systems, and computers.
And bring back the original redhead sceneMy guess is that the next major update to the attraction will include removing Jack. Most likely would want a few years of a Depp free environment if they are rebooting the franchise.
I think there is a greater chance of plastic straws returning. And bring back the original redhead scene
And the old script with "It be Gold I'm after"And bring back the original redhead scene
w h y s o m a n y l i k e sSo is the beginning of them slowly taking out the movie references?

Walt wasn’t alive when WDW was built?????I'd say, you might be onto something when it comes to 3rd shift were that maintenance work needs to take place.
You might also just be onto the reality of what "Disney" considers show quality upkeep these days.
(and Disney isn't alone in this BTW.. other parks let things slip to)
Sadly, it's not what it used to be... IE.. how many effects can be "broken" before a ride goes 101.
and... there really isn't much incentive for those who truly "care" to stick around and deal with the BS
just to make the park like it used to be when Walt was alive...
Nope. Died in 1966, a full five years before its opening.Walt wasn’t alive when WDW was built?????
I was well aware of thatNope. Died in 1966, a full five years before its opening.
