WDW Resort Radio - It was a shortwave radio station we used to listen to on the interstate when we got close to WDW (radio show about what to do in WDW narrated by Ludwig Von Drake)

Not to be picky (well, I kinda am!), but this wasn't short wave radio. It was a series of short RANGE radio transmitters that worked along I-75 from Ocala down to the Orlando area. I used to love listening to it as a long drive from Dallas was nearing its end (remember reporter Walter Wonderful?).

Not to be picky, but 75 doesn't run into Orlando.;) I'm assuming you meant the Turnpike.

Also I meant short RANGE not WAVE, that was a brain fart on my part.

All joking aside, I vaguely remember picking it up in Ocala, right after visiting the WDW welcome center. However it usually cut out about halfway to Orlando and didn't come back until we got onto I-4.

I have very vague memories of the characters featured on that station, I primarily remember Ludwig Von Drake being the main host and interviewing other characters about what you could do in the parks. My biggest memory was always begging my parents to tune into that radio station once we passed Ocala because it got me that much more excited about getting to WDW.

When did they stop doing that?
