Possible New Main Street Music Loop To Debut

A new Facebook page for the event says that the music will be installed at all Main Street USA's around the world. Maybe we should all sign a petition demanding to keep the old one. That loop is an essential part of Main Street. I would be sad if I had to walk through my favorite area of the Magic Kingdom and not hear my favorite music loop. I think that many people would agree with me.

So the new loop drops everywhere 1/9/12? Just as long as they maintain the early 20th century feel I will still love it. I can only hope nobody gets the bright idea to hit us with a smashup of Disney Channel stars' greatest hits. :drevil:

Right, because the theme parks should NEVER change.

Aren't there more important things to start petitions over? Like world peace or firing our dysfunctional Congress?

Bring on the new music!

I'm not saying that theme parks should never change. The petition idea is a new thing called sarcasm. I am just as disgusted about our dysfunctional Congress as you are, however, this is a forum about WDW, not Washington DC. :ROFLOL:

The new music for Disneyland's MSUSA was announced today by the Disney Parks Blog:

Starting next Monday, January 9, guests strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., will be humming along to some new – and familiar – tunes. For the first time in 20 years, we are once again adding new music to the iconic entrance music of Disneyland park.

Though there have been many updates over the years, the last refresh of Disneyland’s Main Street’s musical score was back in 1992, when selections recorded for Disneyland Paris were brought back to Disneyland park in California.

This time around, over a dozen new tunes, arranged and recorded specifically for Main Street, U.S.A., will join many of the existing songs. Included in the new mix are such iconic period pieces as “Meet Me in St. Louis, Louis,” “In the Good Old Summer Time,” “Alexander’s Ragtime Band,” “Oh You Beautiful Doll,” Scott Joplin’s “Maple Leaf Rag,” and a recent tune given a turn-of-the-last-century arrangement, Michael Giacchino’s “Married Life” from Disney•Pixar’s “UP.”

So the next time you’re ambling down Main Street, U.S.A., keep an ear out for some new – and old – classics!

"Currently this update pertains to Disneyland park only."

:lookaroun

It won't be long before the Magic Kingdom loop is changed as well if not at the same time. The last update was done at the same time to both parks.

I'm glad to hear that "Married Life" will be part of the new loop. That is a good fit for Main Street.

The new soundtrack for Main Street USA has debuted today at Disneyland. Here's a 90 second YouTube video of specifically "The Married Life" track from Pixar's Up playing this morning, as seen from Disneyland's Central Plaza at the end of Main Street USA.

It's mellow, but I really like it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tsb2tKKHGuY

Too busy playing on your smartphone or Nintendo DS to notice the wonderful little details that help define the parks?! ;)

Kidding, obviously, but as someone so in-tune with the details that help complete the experience, I am a bit surprised that you don't pay attention to BGM.

I can't believe I forgot to respond to this terrible attack on my fanboi obeservation skills by the Midwestern Disney Photo King!:king::ROFLOL:

I actually DO (usually) pay attention to it to some degree. I notice when it is too loud or missing entirely (like it was on one day in May at EPCOT throughout WS) or when it doesn't fit (like when they were playing animated films stuff at EPCOT for one festival not too long ago!)

I just haven't really noticed the LS stuff (although it has riled up a former MAGICal record-posting fanboi I know!)

I will make a concerted effort to notice next time.

How's your Tokyo planning coming? :)

Can't listen at work, but hopefully they don't play the depressing segment of the married life song.. I think everyone knows what I'm talking about with. I was a freaking mess of depression and sorrow during that part of the movie. Damn you Pixar for know exactly how to get an emotional reaction out of people.

I'll admit that I haven't really noticed the Liberty Square stuff either, although I've heard the same riled up comments as you, but I think that's because I'm rarely wandering around Liberty Square for extended periods of time.

I've become really familiar with the Tomorrowland BGM because of the TTA, the Main Street BGM because I spend a lot of time in the hub, (I'll spare you the rest of the list, but it seems every other land at WDW has a more compelling reason to spend prolonged periods of time in the area) but Liberty Square has a small footprint and we don't spend much time walking or standing around there.

As for Tokyo, haven't done a ton of planning, but it still should happen at the end of this year! If I have any more questions, I'll let you know.

I love the new loop and hope it finds it's way to Magic Kingdom Park soon. They did a very good job with it and the up married life theme fits perfectly. The full loop has been posted on another Disney site

The Disney & More Blog has posted a recent recording of the New Main Street Loop at Disneyland..

From Disney & More
You may have heard that a new music loop was done for Main Street USA at Disneyland Anaheim and if you wish you can hear the whole new music loop below, thanks to a recording of revelers' apprentice. Among the new music being added you'll hear the theme from Pixar UP! at 7.01 min!

I have to say the Married Life music fits in perfectly without notice..
