The Fear Factor area for one is prime real estate that hasn't been used for years.
It is used every year for the seasonal HHN dance show which plays to full theaters nearly every showing, it would be hard to demo that theater and find another to host the dance show with that capacity.

You could put it in Blue Man Group, which displaces Grinch and this past year that entrance area was utilized for the queue entrance of Hellblock Horror.

Then you could place it in a soundstage or on the giant stage in Production Central, but then what to do for the queue of the house that typically goes there? Also what about crowding?

So you close parts of the park so you can have a few months of HHN ? I think that strategy needs work.

Fear Factor was not closed for HHN. That theater has been hosting seasonal shows for HHN since before Fear Factor even opened. It going unused during the day is an entirely separate matter.

Not sure where you are going with this. The original point is there are many pockets of space that Universal can use. Fear Factor being one area. Even if they want to use that area for HHN, it could be utilized with a new attraction there.

You know where I'm going with this. You insinuated the theater was closed for the sake of HHN. It was not. HHN has nothing to do with that space going unused during the day for the remainder of the year. It's closed because no one liked Fear Factor and they never replaced it. There's nothing stopping them from putting a new permanent show there, which they should do, otherwise you're losing vital show space for their biggest event of the year. There's only so many rides you could fit in that space anyway. That said, it would be optimal but of questionable financial viability to tear down the current theater and replace it with a new one, but that obviously can't happen without a permanent tenant.

There was never any need to close down the original Kong attraction. Granted they had issues with the technicalities of the ride, but it could have been fixed. The themeing of that attraction was just awesome.

The Mummy could have gone into this area.

The zone is just an excuse for cheap attractions.

Except it's not "the zone," it's KidZone, and Mummy is not a children's attraction.
