Port Orleans Riverside?

We're arriving next month to Disney! Concern is, I've been reading over and over on several boards recently about the poor conditions of the rooms at POR. We really have our hearts set on POR and booked it last year after lots of studying all the choices. It looks amazing! Now, wondering about seeing if we can switch our room over to newly reburb'd room at POFQ. I realize it can't be guaranteed over there, but maybe a better chance?

Any suggestions? Anyone just back from POR and could recommend one of the mansion rooms for us at POR that was nice? I don't mind if the room has a few dings or scuffs, but we have very young kids and we will be back in the room more than most. A dirty room is just not what I'm paying for on a vacation. This is our 1st time staying on site and we want it to be magical!

Just back from Disney!

Just wanted to thank everyone again for all the info you shared. LOVED Port Orleans Riverside! We had 2 connecting rooms in Magnolia Terrace. Rooms were very clean, no mold or anything that I had seen reported on Trip Advisor. Bedspreads actually looked brand new! Housekeeping was wonderful too! One day my daughter was napping and we had the privacy key in. Housekeeping actually called to say they left towels in bag outside our door and asked if there was anything we needed.
Looks like we found our new favorite hotel!

I love that no matter what hotel you stay at on disney property, they put that bag on your doorknob for you when you leave the do not disturb placard up.

Hi Sarjess, I Am so happy that you found the resort to your liking!!!! Many of the review boards do have to be taken with a grain of salt, as others have said. I have stayed at every level of Disney resort and havent ever had a problem that wasnt solved by a quick call to the Front Desk. The only problems I have had is people smoking in a non smoking room and the room reeking. I dont smoke and am incredibly sensitive to it so it isnt something I want to deal with. In all cases I was moved immediately to another room and th eproblem was solved. All of the resorts at Disney are pretty neat and really the only question is what theme are you into for that particular trip and what level of resort to stay at?? Great to hear about your wonderful trip!!! Marie
