Port Orleans Riverside question

Hello,

I will be spending one night at PO riverside, I still call it Dixie Landings, after my family and I run the Expedition Everest Challenge.

We were wondering if the resort has a hot tub? I can't remember. And if they do what time does it close? The race and after party doesn't end until midnight and I would love a soak in the hot tub afterwards.

Thanks,

Frank

Yes there is a hot tub, but I'm not certain that it would be available after midnight.

I don't know if it's like this at other resorts, but when we stayed at Boardwalk, we complained that on a previous trip to Beach Club the pool closed so early. They told us that as long as you aren't loud, you can swim as late as you want. We'd go every night around midnight and no one said anything. There were others there on occasion also.

At Riverside, the main pool and hot tub are open until midnight, at least they were when I was there last (a couple years ago). The quiet pools were posted as being open 24-hours, but there aren't hot tubs at those.

I'm sure if you were quiet they wouldn't bother you in the hot tub on Ol' Man Island, though the question becomes whether the pump is on a timer, because I don't recall seeing any Guest-accessible controls.

We stayed there over the holidays this last year. I'm also guessing that as long as your not loud, give a try after midnight. The cool nights made for a great hot tub. We were in the hot tub at least until 11pm with hardly anyone around. Good luck. Badger Brent

We used to stay there all the time - until we bought DVC. It's still my favorite, and I also call it Dixie Landings!

Ol Man Island used to close at 10-ish, or earlier, since they staff it with Lifeguards while it's open. It DOES indeed have a hot tub, which holds about 8 people (not huge).

It's worth a try, but they've been pretty in the past about people even going in that pool area after they put up the ropes (liability). It's not well lit and the filters are all on cleaning mode. I just don't want you to get your hopes up - I could be completely wrong, or things may have changed.

You guys don't think that the kind people over at Dixie Landings would think ahead and plan to have the pool and tub area open longer that usual because of all the people running the Everest Challenge?

I guess I will have to wait and see.

Thanks for all your help.
