Right now i have The polynesian booked for september is riverside a good place to stay.

I was going to book riverside since they closed cbr but i upgraded to poly. Is Riverside as big as say cbr or coronodo, And is polynesian as nice as cbr or riverside.

I like quiet resorts with lots of room. Which one would Is better. Since i have never been to either. my favorite resort is epcot. so i thought the monorail to epcot would be great. any comments will help thanks

also do all of polys room have balconys?

I have only ever stayed at Riverside, and that was just the once this summer.

I would say that the resort is quite large, and is rather quiet. The Foodhall is quite busy and we never tried the waitress service restaurant but it looked nice.

The rooms are pleasant and the river makes for a nice place to take quiet strolls at night.

there has been a post going around that the pool at the
riveside will be closed all of september for updates. i would
check at the front desk before i made a switch to them.

i have stayed at CBR, Riverside and Poly.

Poly is my favorite, I love the atmosphere they have torches
at night as well as hawiian music all day playing through out the
resort and having the monorail right there is awesome!!!

i wouldnt change for anything.:sohappy:

never been in september but went in oct. and it was low crowds
what are your dates?

if you like tropical atmosphere the poly has it. and it tends to be
less crowded than other resorts because it is more expensive.

do you have kids? the neverland club is awesome.

POR Closing?

My Wife and I will be staying at P.O.R. 9/12-9/16, and have received (as yet at least) no word from Disney or Expedia regarding a resort change. IMHO, I doubt that Disney would close both P.O.R. and C.B.R. at the same time. We went last October, and the crowds were better than in May 2001 and June 2000, but not as good (i.e. light) as in January 1998. I would avoid Columbus Day Weekend...last year it was a madhouse at the MK Saturday and Sunday.

In terms of sheer atmosphere... I prefer Port Orleans Riverside to the Poly. You literally feel like you are in the middle of the wilderness. The trees, the landscaping, and the serene lagoons --not to mention large size which thins out the crowds--- makes this the most peaceful resort on property. (At POR, I actually HOPE for one rainy morning. The mood is undescribable!) Throw in the fact that POR is HALF the price of the Poly... and I'm sold!

(Transportation is obviously slower than the monorail hotels--- but once you've taken a late nite river cruise to Downtown Disney and back, past the swamps and Treehouse Villas, you'll be returning to POR again and again.)

Polynesian is a better resort, but at the same time you are paying more for what you get.
In terms of moderate resorts, Riverside is the best of the bunch. If you like the atomsphere that Riverside brings then you will fall in love with the resorts.
Either way you can't lose...have a fun trip
