POR - itching to go?

We're staying at POR in May, and I just looked at the Disney World site and was looking at the POR page, clicked on "reviews" and saw a March 28th review saying the family had a big problem with bedbugs. I guess we'd better check the mattress pad to see if any telltale signs, but it does make me feel a little uncomfortable. I realize that even the best hotels can have this problem, but I don't want to experience it. I don't think I'll tell DH since this trip isn't his idea.

never having suffered the delights. what are the telltale signs ?
Could it be that those people who reported it, were just suffering from excess sun, because I've suffered itching from that. It would be easy to blame bed bugs as the cause in ignorance, because you're unaware of the sun damage.

You should do this regardless of if you are at a side of the road motel or at the 4 Seasons. The little suckers can be anywhere at any time. The good news is that Disney does take the issue seriously and takes the appropriate measures when they are discovered.

Always check your room out before you bring in your personal belongings... Check under the mattress (you should see little black dots) check behind the mirrors/pictures on the wall and check the baseboards. As stated earlier they can be at anywhere from a luxury hotel to a roadside. Just be proactive about it..
If you really want to check things call the local health department and ask them directly...they may/may not tell you.

By the way Stayed there this past November and Loved it!
