POP or CORONADO?

I am traveling with myself, my dh, and three kids, 18,3 and 1 year. I love both resorts but I really dont know which one to choose. it's not an issue of price or size its more of an issue of theming for the younger kids. I know the 1 year old will not notice but the others will. I know the bus system at CS is great compared to POP especially with all the kids around, but Im torn . what are your suggestions for taking the kids.

Good question! On our last trip to the World in Dec 2008, Myself and 7 yr old son were suppose to stay at POP, but they had a deal and I was able to upgrade to CS for an extra $40 for the entire week! My son liked the resort, but did tell me helf way thru the trip that he wished the hotel had giant characters like when we stayed at All Stars. So needless to say, we are staying at POP this Sept. I guess I have another year until he is ready to upgrade again! So I would say go with POP if price and room size is not an issue. Hope you all enjoy your trip!

The theming at POP is awesome! I've never stayed there, but I saw it once on a self guided resort tour, haha. I thought all the larger than life characters & pop culture things were really neat. I can imagine kids really loving it there.

CSR will give you more amenities and food options. I am just thinking you may lose a little of the “Kid friendly” stuff but you would get a better balance of kid and adult stuff.

I am a fan of Pop Century and I don’t think anyone would be disappointed if you went there but I would really look at what the two resorts have to offer and decide then. My only knock on CSR is the size. If you get a room way out there it is like walking across one of the parks to get to the food or lobby but then my walk from my room at Pop to the food took a while also.

If money is no object, I'd vote for Coronado. The kids will love the pool. CS is nicer than Pop all the way around. The beds are bigger. It's less crowded and noisy. Kids are happier when their parents are happier and more relaxed.

Agreed. On a tour last week, my son pronounced the huge foam keyboard that you can walk on near the computer pool the coolest decoration ever. He did, however, ask why the letters he jumped on didn't show up on the huge laptop screen across the way.

But for the OP, if you don't mind the smaller room, go for POP. The theming is great, and it is well designed such that, although the resort is big, the walks to the central area aren't bad. Plus, the food court at POP is, I would say, far more kid-friendly than CSR's. CSR has larger rooms (and beds) and more amenities (lobby area, table-service restaurant, etc.).
