Pop or CBR

So, I came into a little extra money ... I am currently staying solo at Pop (standard) and can upgrade for $300 to CBR (preferred) last week of this March (28 days today!). I understand both are under some renovations/construction but which would you choose? TIA!

Definitely Pop Century! It has a more fun atmosphere than Caribbean Beach Resort. I felt free to explore Pop Century, but when I stayed at CBR last year, I didn't do much exploring because I heard that years ago, a guest was assaulted by a cast member on the grounds. Not that that will happen again, but it made me feel scared.

I'll be the odd one out and say Caribbean beach! Even with construction it was still beautiful. My husband eats a lot so we loved the breakfast buffet and it's price(yes it's in a tent but it has ac). Plus the coke freestyle machines and island markets are nifty. Just a personal preference since I've never been a fan of POP. If construction worries you then go for POP, the new room refurbs are nice. And the construction is more contained.

The one thing to be wary of is that they are in the process of renovated rooms in the 50s building at POP but it's not as impactful as the CBR construction (we debated the same 2 resorts)

Although we're mid-May so might be safe but you may want to target the 80s/90s area since apparently all those rooms have been upgraded.
You should be able to call and put that in as a request.

One of the best Disney vacations the family and I had was at the CBR, its not a bad resort, though I thnk the lack of a food court is a show stopper for me.
Don't blame you there! We only eat at the resort for breakfast so food court doesn't make a difference for us. The new quick service should be open sometime in March although over in Trinidad South.

If the price is the same (including any hidden fees like bell services taxi from room to the front) then Caribbean is superior.
Pop is just a dressed up All Star Resort. Was not impressed with it.

Even with all the construction that's going on right now? Aren't all of their dining options outside in a tent?

I've stayed at both, and I think overall, the POP is a great resort. In all honesty, I'd probably pick the Pop over CBR, though my kids did enjoy the pool at CBR more.

Yep, and if I'm paying large sums of money for a disney vacation, I'd rather not eat under a tent

I've stayed at both and I'd save the money and stick with Pop. Pop is much more compact. Add to that the massive construction going on at CBR and nope. No way would I pay more and stay in that mess.

May I offer a third option?? Any chance of upgrading to Coronado Springs?? That is an upgrade that might be worth it, even with the construction at the resort, which I didn't notice, as far as noise or it interfering with my vacation at all. Marie

I made this decision in January, and went with POP. As it has been noted CBR is still undergoing a lot of construction
and the main building and food court is not open yet.

Without a doubt Pop Century! I was lucky enough to get a new room on my solo visit in September 2017. It was very comfy and the little bit of construction that was going on didn't bother me at all. I've always had good stays at Pop Century.

I have watched recent youtube updates on the construction over at CBR and it is disruptive; it affects so many areas of the resort. Pop Century only has room refurbishment taking place. Huge difference.

Have a great trip!

We got a really nice deal on priceline for ak, it was almost the same price. I was reading how to play the priceline /hotwire game on a tread on here and it worked 45% off
