Trip Report Pop & Hop, Snack & Shop, Graduation Celebration - Sept 2016

We arrived home late last night and as usual, we are all in Disney depression mode. Seriously, the return to reality is so hard!

It was an AWESOME trip. However not without a few hiccups. Let’s just say that the name of my Trip Report could easily have been, “I Almost Killed My Husband In The Happiest Place On Earth” or… “”Did The Ride Just Stop?” or… “Bathrooms Around The World”

Needless to say that Disney Magic outshines small issues – even my husband’s behavior that almost landed him in Cinderella’s moat more than once.

Warning: I have some commitments over the next few weeks, so I’m not sure how much updating I will be able to do. But I wanted to start writing before my memory and notes start to fade away. Besides, I’m so sad – it helps to re-live it! Lol

For those of you who don’t know us – our cast of characters:

Me – Mary

Ross – My hubby who drove me INSANE throughout our trip.

Julia (14)

Hope (7 with Autism & Sensory issues)

What I didn’t mention in my Pre-Trip Report is that we were celebrating the fact that Julia is starting 9th grade this year. As homeschoolers, we have never acknowledged graduations or moving up ceremonies. So since my sweet girl is starting high school, I figured she deserved a Disney Celebration, so I had that put on our reservation.

Since Ross agreed to family shirts, I had my friend make them for us. Julia was surprised and really happy!

So if you are ready to join in the fun & craziness… welcome aboard!!

We found the line for Pocahontas and waited. The line was not even officially opened yet, but I didn’t want to chance it being cut off. We waited at least a half hour if not more. It was HOT – but we stuck it out. As we got closer, we realized it would only be her. Last year, there was a second character to meet – but not this time. We were the next in line and we noticed the couple in front of us were Pocahontas super fans. I don’t know what they were showing her, but they has her sign a million different things and then were talking to her about something that happened in her movie. It was a little weird.

Finally it was our turn. Pocahontas has never disappointed us! She is so amazing! I have to say, she takes a long time to spend with people. Julia was quick – a picture and an autograph.

But when she saw Hope in her outfit, she went crazy. She sat her down and started to tell her a story! All the characters are good and kind to Hope, but some some reason, Pocahontas seems to have a special insight. Hope of course LOVED it!

She is probably the one character I don’t care how long we wait because the interaction has always been amazing.
Oh my goodness!!! These pictures are precious!!

Day 7: September 18th

Today we were heading to MK. We had an early start (for us) with an 8:30 breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace. MK was opening at 9:00AM today. I have no pictures until we are in the park which means we were in a hurry to get there.

I love Winnie The Pooh and this is one of my favorite breakfasts but for some reason, I feel so rushed between the autographs and getting the pictures, I feel as though I don’t enjoy the actual meal. I’m not blaming the restaurant; it’s totally me.

Breakfast was awesome. I do wish they could make GF Pooh’s Puffed French Toast. Lol I can dream right? By now I realized that the chef no longer comes out unless you request him to. I was given a allergy alert menu which listed what was GF up at the buffet. But I knew that I could ask for GF Mickey waffles and those yummy doughnuts!

When we were done, Hope wanted to see Elena’s Royal Welcome. We missed it on our first day so we walked over near the castle to watch the show. Ross hates these kinds of things so he ran off to get a return time for something. Julia, Hope and I watched the show for a bit until I realized it was the wrong show! We missed Elena! I checked the schedule to see when the next time was and decided to come back.

I was surprised to see that the sun was not spinning. I would have though that they would have taken care of that. Also, the ending interactive effects were also not working.

It was time for our FP for 7DMT so we walked over. I was wondering if Hope would want to do it again, and sure enough, she did! She definitely has a favorite!

I wish it was a little longer of a ride, but it still pretty awesome.

Our next FP was for Splash Mountain, so we headed over that way. We didn’t have a chance to visit our bear friends so we made a stop.

Hope did not want to ride Splash the other day and I was really wanting her to give it a go. But no… she was not the least bit interested, not even for a Disney Dollar! So I sadly respected her decision and Ross & Julia went off to the Briar Patch while Hope and I wandered around the shops a little.

It was sooooo HOT – it was almost unbearable to stand outside! My old backpack/purse was getting a little raggy so I was contemplating getting a new one and liked this design. But I didn’t end up getting it.

It was so sad to see BTMR closed.

We realized that we had missed the next showings of Elena so we hit up Haunted Mansion and then went off to the 100 Acre Woods. I thought it was so cute that Hope wanted to only ride with Julia.

We had a FP for Space Mountain so Julia and I walked there while Ross & Hope visited Buzz Lightyear.

It was around 2:30 so we decided to take our treats and wait for the FoF parade. Here comes another time when I wanted to kill my husband. He picked a spot in the disability viewing area. It was completely empty because it was in the BLAZING SUN! I for one, would have preferred to swap awesome viewing for a more comfortable spot, but not Ross. I understand he wants Hope to have an unobstructed view, but this was ridiculous. So we stood there and waited and roasted. I kept Hope in her stroller so she could have the shade. I was completely miserable and looking back, I should have just walked away and watched somewhere else. I didn’t take many photos – that’s how uncomfortable it was. There was a person near us that had to be taken away in a stretcher!

At the end, I needed WATER! Seriously, we walked over to Tommorrowland Terrace area and I instructed Ross to go get us some water while the girls sat and cooled off. I walked into the bathroom to splash water on my face and I actually almost fainted! That’s how hot it was! A woman asked me if I was okay – I was so embarrassed! I was okay after I splashed some water on my face – but OMG NEVER AGAIN!! That sun was a killer!

After we were once again hydrated, we figured it would be better to stay in the AC for a while so we went over to CoP.
thumb_IMG_0774_1024.jpg

Halfway through, I heard someone snoring. When I turned around, what did I see?

thumb_IMG_0779_1024.jpg

Yep, he actually feel asleep! (At least he kept one eye on the show.)
