Pop Century Room Request

Hello everyone!

Long time reader, first time posting. My partner and I are going down to Disney for the second time this year. We have decided that we are doing our "cheap version" this time. So we are staying at a value resort and took the Free Quick Service Dining that was offered. So Two Questions.

1. We requested a king bed and a room in the 80s building because we think it's the funniest, is it really far away from the front?

2. How do people feel about the Quick Service Dining plan rather than the regular one.

Thanks all!

I can't speak for the dining plan since I have never used it. I have stayed in the 80's section and the walk wasn't far at all. Maybe 3-5 minutes depending on pace to the food court.

:wave:I think is not as bad as it looks, I've stayed there with my family and we love it, as for the quick serve, it's good, not fantastic, but good solid food, with a wide selection, I've always enjoyed the waffles, and fruit.
I like the quick serve because it's in eat and out, but I warn you that between 8 and 9:30 it's a mad house so consider your timing if you want to find a place to sit. :xmas:

80's section is a bit far, but if you cut thru the parking lot to get to the bus stops and Classic hall its pretty fast.

As for the DDP. I really can't comment on the Quick Service plan b/c we always do the regular dining plan. this is mainly b/c we enjoy a sit down meal each day to relax and eat some GOOD food.

1. We stayed at the 80's and really it was not that bad. Trust me all that walking we all do in the parks.

2. You know we had both Dining plans before. Each one has it's goods and bads. This past visit we had tried the Quick Service. It was not that bad, we did enjoy it. Would we do the Quick Service again. mmmm no. We like the Table Service much better.

For non-premium, I like 50's there. Location is good, bowling pin pool is decent. As for quick service dining only, I'd still schedule a sit-down, at least once. I'd probably make it Boma, because it's a buffet that has a bit of everything. The old, if you had one sit-down and wanted a taste of everything, that would be it.

I am doing the same thing. If you are asking how the quick service dining plan is as opposed to regular you should know that for $10/person/day you can upgrade to regular dining plan. This was a pleasant surprise to me this year.

Here are some of our favorite CS locations, not in the parks. These should work with the QSDP. Cookes of Dublin, my husbands new find, Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express all located in DTD. Resort favorites include, Captain Cooks at the Poly, Pepper Market at CSR and both CS locations at Port Orleans. The benefit to QSDP is you are not tied down to a reservation that will interupt your touring plans.

Just cut through the parking lot from the 80s buildings right to the bus stop and the food court. Only a few minutes. Quick service is really good if you dont want to be somewhere at a certain time and have to hurry around. You can still get plenty of food. As someone else said, though, get to the food court either before 8 a.m. or after 9:30 cause it will be packed and noisy! Have a magical vacation....we love POP......

I've stayed in the 80's several times and like others have said, it's about a 3 minute walk if you just cut through the parking lot, as opposed to following the path.

Of course, it seems a lot farther at 3:30 AM when you're coming back from a late EMH at the MK. :snore:

I'll second the wrap at Peco's Bill and many of the counter service at World Showcase of a nice samplling. I also love Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. Do it cheap this time and save up to do it big next time! Always leave wanting more!!! You'll have a blast no matter what!!
