Pop Century questions

Planning a trip at the beginning of June with my wife, children, and parents. We are considering staying at POP. We have been one time before and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. I know the themes between the value and the moderates are vastly different with the values being more geared to children and the mods toward relaxation and adults. So, what I was wondering about is how is the bus service at POP? The rooms? We will have two adults and two children per room. (Two rooms makes the price difference between the values and the mods quite a bit!) Any other help and advice you could give would be appreciated. Thanks!

bus service diff
value = most scooters/big strollers
mod = fewer scooters/big strollers
deluxe = least scooters/big strollers

thats what I have noticed through the years after staying at all three levels

also..
value = most rooms
mod = less rooms
deluxe = even less rooms

Kind of hard to make such generalizations without normalizing them

because when you grow up and have a family.. you'll realize it's not as pleasant when you need to climb over each other for basic things.. or can't have any space away from someone else.
I am grown up. No need for the shade. Just because I will never get a woman pregnant, doesn't make you more special or more in the know. I still don't see why the size matters. If your family is so big that you have to get away or that you are tripping over them, you'll most likely need 2 rooms and the size of each room still won't matter. Plus you should be in the parks not in the rooms. And if you are in the rooms you'll most likely be in bed. Which was my point.

You'll learn some day...

Pop... I love Pop... Especially since they added AOA just over the brige. We stayed at both over the Christmas/New Years week. The busses where great, had a little issue one day but we took a AOA bus and walked over the bridge. WE enjoyed eating at the AOA and the Pop food courts, and it gave us some variety. The rooms are small but they were big enough for us! ;)

We didn't have a good bus experience with PORS for the most part. So I am basing my opinion removing the buses from the equation as I feel that they will be the same at both. I have stayed at both - PORS for 10 days and POP for 1 night (long story). But I didn't care for Pop at all. I just like the vibe and feeling of PORS better. What about Art of Animation Family Suite? Will that be enough space for everyone?

Of the values, our fav was Pop. Of the mods, our fav is CSR. The last time we stayed in a value, we only had one child and found the rooms to be fine for the three of us. Now that we have three children, we know a value room wouldn't fit. Plus, we had just about had it with the busing at the values. They were always so overcrowded. We waited hours for a bus back to the resort. Pop does have their own bus but since there is only one stop, it is always mobbed.

In August, we stayed at CSR and loved it. The five of us were very comfy in the one room. My three boys (8, 3, 1 at the time) were very happy and so were we. We had a rental car but never saw any of the multiple stops crowded. The last time we stayed at CSR the buses were hardly ever crowded.

In the last 8 yrs, we have been to WDW 7 times. 5 at Pop, once at ASMusic and last month at CBR. We liked Pop because of the fun atmosphere and the food court (love the Beef and Blue Sandwich). The bus stop wasn't that much of a walk once you learn the lay out of the land and how to cut through areas. As posted earlier, there were a lot of strollers and big carts. It wasn't unusual to have up to 3-4 electric carts waiting in line which backed up others loading on due to all family members entering with the cart ahead of the line. (I'm not bashing those needing carts, I'm just giving MY experiences) I will say that when lines back up too long, they do send extra busses which is really nice at the end of the day when you have 3 or 4 loads of people waiting to get back to the resort. What I found interesting is that we excepted the behavior of the guests from Pop on the busses to be normal, (parents letting kids larger than lap sitting size to take up seats while elderly and parents carrying sleeping children had to stand) but every bus trip from CBR was quiet, calm and people were polite and offered seats to those needing them more. I don't know if it was unusual but we never waited more then 10 minutes for a bus and we always got one the first bus (only had to stand one time all week). That being said, we didn't really take advantage of any extras at the moderate. For me, I prefer Pop at less $ so I can stay longer but my DW likes to less crowded busses and quieter layout of the moderate resort. One last thing, we used the refillable mugs everyday at Pop and found it not worth the bother at CBR.
