Probably not.

They can just continue calling what's there Pop Century, since the latter half had more Pop than the earlier half...

Unless they decide to make a movie called "Pop Century: The Legendary Years" then I doubt it.

Most likely the animation theme will continue to takeover everything in that area over the long term.

From 00 - 40 we had 2 world wars, a great depression, a dust bowl, and prohibition.

I highly doubt Disney could have gotten anything remotely upbeat out of those years without stretching the truth just a tad. I'm sure they realized this well into the design phase and the post 9/11 tourism slump was a perfect excuse to just wipe the project entirely (partially completed check-in building aside).

Lets see.....

1900s Lionel trains

1910s Erector set

1920s Crayola Crayons

1930s Monopoly

1940's Silly Putty

Plenty happened

Based on the master plan we can probably make some assumptions from the shape of the pools as to what the themes were going to be. To me they look like a rocket ship, a coke bottle, and a US route marker sign (probably route 66 themed).

Definitely not. It's impossible because the area that was planned to be used for the expansion is now the future site of Disney's Art of Animation Resort which is already nearing it's completion.

No. I don't know if it's even needed.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the other parts of POP being re-themed. I mean, the lobby screams classic Mickey cartoons anyway.

Agreed. There was plenty of pop in the first half of the 20th century. Scott Joplin wrote "The Entertainer" in 1902. Animation as we know it was born with the release of Humorous Phases of Funny Faces in 1906. Hollywood Studios already features Gertie the Dinosaur, which was released in 1914. And if the naughts and the teens are easy, then the '20s, '30s and 440s are even easier with all of Disney's output. I'd definitely stay at Pop again if I could request a room in the '30s with some Silly Symphonies theming.

Is this thread a joke or something, do people really not realize this is already going on and will be open in a few months?
