Pop Century bus question.

The last time I visited in 2002, I noticed that each hotel had its own bus to/from each park, except the All Star resorts, there was one bus for all three, which looked like a nightmare at times. I figured it had something to do with all three being very close to each other.

So my question is, since the Pop Century resort is not in the same place, does it have its own dedicated bus to/from all the parks?

Thanks

Pop Century has its own buses. The All-Stars are in many cases lumped together but not always. At MK and Epcot they are split up at certain times of the day such as park close. At MGM they will often split them ip 2 and one. One bus for ASp/ASm and another for ASmv. Lastly the All-Stars are not the only hotels that share a bus. BW, YC, and BC all share one bus as do different combinations of MK resorts.

We are used to the All Star Sports bussing in that while you might have to go to other resorts, you usually don't have to wait too long. How would you guys compare the amount of busses used at Pop Century compared to the AS resorts? Are we basically going to have to get used to waiting longer?

I have found that the wait for buses at Pop is about the same as the All-Stars.

Awesome. And being closer to Epcot and MGM should be even better too.
The trips to MK and Epcot from Pop are about the same as from the All-Stars. The trip to MGM is much quicker from Pop, while the trip to AK is much quicker from the All-Stars.

I figured Epcot would be a little quicker from looking at the map.

Pop is closer to Epcot, but it is close to the Woprld Showcase side. If you actually measure the distance traveled by road it is about the same as the All-Stars.

During busy time be prepared to wait for a second bus to arrive. Lines can be very long for bus.
This is very true. Especially when leaving the parks at park closing. Although at MK and Epcot park closing they will often load two and sometimes even three buses at a time.

Don't they do that for all the value/moderate resorts?

When I stayed there lasy May we really did have any issues with the busses. Going to places seemed to be quicker then getting home, but I've noticed thats normal now. Maybe one night we had to wait at MGM because the line was actually so long that it went past three other terminals. But the CM's working there were able to start bringing in 2 busses at a time which cut the wait time down. I think even that night we still didn't wait a huge amount of time to get the busses.

But the busses are dedicated to POP only, we didn't share a bus with any other resort.

Hope this helps!;)

When we went in July 2003 we stayed at All Star Music and the wait times were not that bad. the only time it was remotely bad was at the Magic Kingdom on July 4th, but that is to be expected!!

They do it for all of the value resorts. But I have never seen them double or triple load for the moderates. Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I have never seen it.

I've seen it happen for POR and CS numerous times.

Interesting

Yeah they really get those people out of there quick.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like it is for the Value's, but I think sometimes they double up at those places to get the line manageable. Sometimes I've seen double loads KEEP coming to the All Star spots.

Pop bus service is fine and pretty equal to All Stars. Only downside is the walk from the park to the bus stop at the end of the day. Since Pop is the newest, the bus pick ups are furthest away. I remember the walk from MK to the bus stop seemed like miles away, so be aware if you are tired and the feet are tired too!
Also in the morning the lines, esp to MK, seemed to take a few buses to get loaded, esp if there are people w/motorized "wheelchairs" waiting to get on.
Plan accordingly and you'll be fine and expect some longer lines at park closings, but as previous posters mentioned, they will often bring extra buses to help.
