Pool Towels

I am thinking that the notice in the POR/POFQ literature "Towels are not available at the pools, so please take your room towels with you when going for a swim" applies to the QUIET pools. POFQ does not have a quiet pool; both a towel cart and towel return bin were at the pool last week.

That's probably what the situation was/is. I'm so glad I cooled off before ranting and starting a thread called "No more towels: Disney declining by degrees" lol...

Don't see the problem with just taking towels from your rooms
Just ask mousekeeping for extra and conseulla will magic them into your room the next day !

I don't disagree about mousekeeping getting extra towels - easy enough. We always ask and we always get them, but that is for room use.

I will however disagree that we should HAVE to do that to take a swim. I love WDW resorts, but at the end of the day they're extremely over priced. The convenience of having the towels at the main pool and not having to "plan" my swim with a request to mousekeeping is huge plus that should be factored into the already high cost of the room rate.

they put them out when it is raining so you can dry off a little before squishing your water all over their lobby floors!
i like having them there, at least the torrents of water coming off my hair ease up a little

Got it! I can imagine those floors could become quite the hazard with water all over 'em.

Not being a big traveler ( other than wdw ) how many other comparable hotels put towels out rather than expect you to bring ones from your room ??.

The one resort I've stayed at at Cancun (which was a laid back place, not an obnoxious resort) had someone working at the pool. You gave them your room number, they gave you towels, and when you were done you returned the towels. You could bring them to the beach too.

We spent two nights at the Hilton Bonnet Creek last week before moving to POFQ. To get towels at their pool, you had to show your room key and provide your room number. 2 towels per guest were allowed. When you were finished using the towels, you had to return the same number of towels to the tent otherwise you would be charged THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER TOWEL!!!

Free towels at Disney are a definite plus!
