Pool refurb in August

I just read that Saratogo Springs is going to refurb the Congress Park pool in August. Is this true? If it is true why would they refurb a pool in the middle of the summer, I think Jan. or Feb. would make more sense. We will be down in SSR Aug. 20 and love the Congress Park area, but if the pool is closed then I guess we will try a new area.

They just opened the brand new feature pool at the Paddock, which makes me believe that the Congress Park pool needs some serious TLC after 7 years of use. The end of August is really not summer time for the Disney parks anymore since kids are going back to school. Besides for Labor Day it is actually one of the quietest days of the year.

I'm hoping its still pretty slow when we go. We usually go the first or second week in Sept, but have been the last week in August and its usualy quiet . But its been years since we've gone in August, and I remember back(before that freaking free dining ) how dead it was. We were watching video of when we went back in 2001 and looking at how dead the parks were...Oh I'm hoping its still pretty slow, you get spoiled not waiting in line.....The heat I can handle!!!

I just stayed in Congress Park at Saratoga Springs the first week of June 2011. The pool was in excellent condition. Perfectly clean. All of the fountains in good order. Working 100% fine. It looked brand new. I even took some pics because it was so beautiful.

I don't see the need for the refurb. If anything, the hot tub could use some refreshing. It worked well but looked like maybe the tiles and stones could use some refreshing.

Overall the Congress Park pool looked great. Maybe the plumbing needed attention?
