Pool hopping

Actually I believe you can hop to specific pools such as the boardwalks pool. The yatch and beach clubs pools have people standing there with magicband scanners and even prior you used to have to show your room key and get a wristband. I was just at the art of animation and I believe none of the pools are guarded with Magicband scanners
Wrong.

AoA is gated, requiring MagicBand entry. Most resorts feature pools are now being gated, requiring a MagicBand to enter. Disney's official policy is each resort's pool is for that resort's guests only. The ONLY exception is for DVC members, and even they do not get entry to every resort pool.

Well all I had to do was pull up the thing at the top and I got into the pool at the AoA, and a cast member told us we could use the boardwalks pool regardless of the fact that we weren't staying there.

We need time for things to happen.
That is amazing. lol You need to hold on to that jpeg and post it every time someone mentions one of those things.
Haha thanks. I may need to touch it up before i do that...like making the year on the cup clear to read 2009 or some pre rapid refill year...:rolleyes:and a few other things. I used to have plenty of time to touch up these mtype of 'cartoons' when i was in my twenties and worked in the supply room. Plenty of my bosses and their idiosyncrancies became subjects of my cheap satire much to the delight of my coworkers who were being held down by 'the man' and the opression of a 40 hour work week. ;)

The cast member was incorrect.

I believe AoA is also now or soon will be equipped with locks that require a room key or magic band to enter as are many of the other pools.

It's that time of year again. So, before this gets into an argument about how pool hopping is right up there with human sacrifice, or those who point out and adhere to the rules are uptight hypocrites if they have ever gone even 1MPH over the speed limit, it's time to shut it down. ;)

OK, but what Shookie drew was a double-wide stroller with school-age kids in it.

We'll forgive me for not being able to accurately identify the age of the kids In the sketch!
Double strollers were mentioned without specifically referring to older kids in them though!

I don't get it. Let's say you stay at a "value" resort. You decide to haul your family to the Poly. So you get up pack a bag (or do you wear your swimwear on the bus?) wait 20 min for a bus. Ride bus to the MK (closest park to Poly) (20 min) get off bus walk to monorail (10 min) wait for monrail (10 min) get off at resort then (if not in swimwear find a bathroom to change) - now we are now at ONE HOUR in just travel - so now you swim and guess what ! the kids are done in an hour and want to go to the park! All in all you've killed almost an entire day just getting around when you could've just gone downstairs to your own hotel pool. And if you want "fun features" why not a water park? Just makes me giggle Of course all that changes if the family has a car but they still have to navigate around the world!

I rent a car, show up to my dinner at Ohana early in my trunks and wife beater, swim before and after my meal....I know, i know...I'm supposed to wait an hour, but no time for that because I'm going to jump on the resort monorail from there and enjoy the parks until closing and then come back to the Poly for a dole whip and quick midnight dip before heading back to my car for the drive back to my room at All-star Music.

And that's how you do it.

So in some circumstances you can pool hop between sister resorts such as POR and POFQ but otherwise it isn't allowed (example no hopping between POP and AOA).

I don't know about "some circumstances"... I think your example is the only one. Unless you consider Animal Kingdom Lodge and Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village to be "sister resorts."

I have to agree. Why would anyone want to either get in a car or a bus and go to another resort. Actually, if you have to take a bus, you have to go to a park or DD first, then switch buses to the other resort, and then reverse that on the way back. All to swim in a pool?!?!?!? Go to TL or BB if you want to do something different. Crazy talk.
