Pooh's Playground

Why did they do all that pretty landscaping just to rip it apart a month later? Was it just for show for the start of the celebration?
It sounds like a fun idea. Now that we have 3 kids in the family it will be a good break for us adults to let them run around with Pooh.

The landscaping they did is not going anywhere. This playground is going in the area in the center that was still walled off.

I've always wondered something...
Okay, they're making a playground.

First of all, it better be some good playground to actually pay to use.

Secondly, this better be some big playground, as I know there are a LOT of kids at DW (Hmm...wonder why? ). and I'm sure not even 10% of them can all fit in the playground ... but then again, perhaps it is a huge playground, like at the Animal Kingdom.

Of course, I have a tendency to look at things with a positive outlook:
Positive outlook: Kids at playground = less lines in fantasyland

Also, as soon as anyone has pics of the playground, PLEASE NOTIFY ME. I'd love to see it ... you know, curiosity.

Disney has many small playgrounds spread around the parks. There is one on TSW (more then) a small one near splash montain and one near the train at Toon town. There is the HISTK at MGM and the Norway boat at Epcot. They really need more. They don't get too busy, but it is a great place to let kids run off steam when they have been waiting in line. I love the playgrounds and my DD has the most fun there (also at the one near ariel.) So yes a new one would be great. It most likely will be more crowded then the toon town one since it will be more in the middle of the park and in view.

Epcot had a number of temporay ones for the F&G festivel in May. I wish they were perminate. MGM needs more like HISTK, it gets busy since it is the only place kids can go while parents are going on other atractions (baby swap style, Not un supervised.)

Oh and I LOVE winnie the pooh so I hope that it is great. I really like classic WTP better so I personally hope it is more hundred acre woods like.

Oh cool, thanks. I've only seen pics and I guess I never caught that. Thanks!

I peeked over the wall when I was there in May, and there was nothing but a concrete slab a rockwork "wall" in the back, and a couple of trees. It seems that it will be much smaller than the Boneyard at AK or the HISTK playground in MGM, but bigger than the little playground in Toontown. It looked to me like about half of the old lagoon remains unused and, of course, all of the backstage area is still untouched. There's plenty of room for several rides back there even with the playground.

Although, I would like to see a Pooh themed area, I don't think that it will be constructed right now. There is pending litigation over the copyright of Pooh and I don't think Disney would be adding anything Pooh related. I could be wrong, as Disney did release the Pooh Themed Heffalump film last year. Only time will tell.

They are already constructing it. Not to mention the fact that there has been "pending litigation over the copyright of Pooh" for 15 years now. That has not stopped them from building Pooh rides all around the world and releasing movies, cd's, books, merchandise, and television shows in that time.

The Pooh case has been going on for years. The fact is they really don’t have much of a case against Disney. This is why they have done things that have only weakened their case such as stealing documents and also why the case has been thrown out so many times. The Slesingers are really just running on appeals.

The Pooh lawsuit is over. Disney won at the trial court level (the case was dismissed by the judge). An appeal is pending, but the judge's decision will probably not be overturned.

If Disney wins in a Pooh lawsuit should we really consider Disney the winner? :)
