Polynesian Resort Adding Bungalows

Pete Werner announced on the DisUnplugged Live 3 days ago that 20 'bungalows' of one and two bedrooms each are going to be built starting later this year at the Poly. They will extend out into the water and be accessed via a dock. The assumption is that these will be DVC units.

While I like this idea and look forward to see what they come up with, I really really hope this isnt going to ruin the amount of beach there is. I really enjoy the beach areas at these resorts, they just ruined the GF beach by putting in the DVC where they did and now...I just really hope the Poly beach isnt the next to get ruined. Does anyone have a blueprint or anything they could share that shows where these bungalows are going?

I don't have blueprints, but I guess for the time being I can put up a guide map for the resort with some speculation as to where they may go:

I do remember @raven saying that the Poly refurb thread on page 10 post#199: "Plans for the new DVC for thea area, Polynesian Villiage, is coming along nicely". I'm not going all in saying this will happen, but this does seem to correlate with his/her knowledge and the fact that raven had us play a guessing game as to what one of the new WDW projects is going to be. Just trying to connect the dots but don't take my word as I AM NOT AN INSIDER NOR HAVE ANY CONNECTIONS TO COMPANY EMPLOYEES!

See, I think they would probably more than likely go in where Luau cove is right now, off that beach. Where you have speculated is way too close to the TTC and where the Ferry boats from MK come in. Actually you have it right at the Ferryboat dock in the one map. I would say over by Tuvalu or I was going to say the beach that's in the middle, but that's sunset pointe which is big $$$ for Disney Fairytale weddings, so IDK if they would put it there either. I'm putting my invisible money on the beach by Tuvalu.

Tuvalau really does make the most sense. However we just got back from a week there and they are doing major construction on their MK facing units...Could this be in the works already??? When will DVC start announcing these? I am buying the day it comes available!!!

I thought that this was released on 1st April.............

say no more...

I don't know maybe it was. I definitely however had no intentions to make this an April Fools joke. I saw this posted on their 3 days ago and decided to make the thread here to talk about this possible development. Know you could argue that I made a bad thread title and made it sound like a true given fact and for that I apologize. Obviously I could've made a better thread title. None the less, I posted here so some of the other higher up members who take part in these DVC threads to either confirm or deny whether or not this is going to happen.

Hey Genie, this is being discussed on another forum. @tikiman has pretty much said it was a go, with about 15 bungalows. Not sure if I can lead you in that direction, but check out Mouseowners.com. It should give you some good info

I'll take that bet because I actually know where there are going. I'll double your invisible money! ;)

So, Raven, do you know if the Luau Cove will be relocated? I am all for a Poly DVC, already saving, but I would be upset knowing that it will require doing away with the Luau show.

It's staying.

Hint: Does anyone really think that a DVC (Disney's most epensive rooms) would be located in an "out of the way" location at a resort? No. There is a reason they are priced high.

Tuvalu would be a prime location for DVC but that means taking away from the already existing Poly. All I know is that I will definitely be staying there. ;)

Edit: Found it! Here's tikiman's take on this:

FYI, That tikiman post is from May 2012.

After the poor location of the Grand Floridian DVC wing (no MK view at all), nothing would surprise me.
