Anyone have an update on the status? Supposedly, they were installing new air fresheners in all of the lobbies. Is the old smell still there or is it gone?
The Poly always smelled kind of like mildew in my opinion. And I loved it!
anyone know any candles or air scents that have a similar or same smell that are available or easy to get?
That saddens me a great deal. That's one of the things Disney seems to have lost touch with. I'm BIG on lobby's, as I spend a lot of time at night relaxing, taking in the ambience. I may have to switch over to GF now. Sounds utterly ridiculous, but that smell was a big part of the GCH. Especially just walking in there to check in. It hit you like a ton of bricks, and it was wonderful.
I'll wager that that is due to 2 of the best restaurants on property being located 20' below it.:slurp:I always thought the best smell in all of WDW was the Poly GCH... but it didn't seem quite the same when we were there at the end of November.
Second best smell is AKL Jambo House lobby.

id call and ask. I asked when i was at the beach club two weeks ago about the scent they used in the lobby and in the room and i ordered it. im sure its the same at the poly good luck!
There was always a distinct smell in Journey into Imagination as well. little fact... an old Yankee Candle had the exact smell. It was called Roses of Cliffwalk. My stepmom owns a candlestore and visted Yankee Candle for business and they said that. It is true. It smelled exactly like i was on the ride
