Poly - Can you help?

My brother is taking his girls to WDW for their 1st trip next month and staying at the Poly. Tikiman's site is down (big bummer). Does anyone know of another website I can go to and find the room number layouts for the individual longhouses? Does anyone have the map that is complete with room numbers for the longhouses that they can scan or email? My brother had picked out some rooms that he wanted to request but didn't write down the room numbers. I've searched several websites and only find the resort layout that has the longhouse names, no room numbers.

Help?!?!

Thanks!

Tikiman, you rock! I'm sure you've heard that at least a couple other times, tho. LOL!

Thank you Dakotafrost & Tikiman. :sohappy:

My brother has had a look at the website and confirmed that the building/room numbers I had written down (because IIIII thought of doing that quite a while back, unlike him) were the right ones (as if there was any doubt but he didn't believe me...I looove when I'm right). Little sisters are the best, huh? LOL! Now he can get his room requests in for the trip next month.

Hey! While I have your attention, I've never stayed at the Poly myself. I've been there to eat at the restaurants, shop in the shops, and waaaay back in the '80s my grandparents stayed there so we came out for a day to visit (I grew up in the metro-Orlando area). This will be my 2 nieces' 1st ever trip to WDW. They're 10 & 12 years old. Any tips or suggestions for Poly fun that I wouldn't already think about to show them???

So what room were you requesting?

Tips on fun for teens? Well they seem to like the arcade and the pool. You might want to rent a pontoon boat and take them out on the lagoon and over to Bay Lake for an afternoon. Also a ride around to the other resorts on the monorail is fun. They can rent jet skis over at the Contemporary or parasail. Take them to the camp fire and movies that are on the beach between the GF and the Polynesian at night. Check the activities sheet when you check in.

Thanks, Tikiman. I'm not used to the whole 'activities schedule' thing. Pop had some stuff going on and the Contemporary didn't seem to do a whole lot of that. I'm really looking forward to this trip. It'll be a lot of new stuff for me which is always nice. I may end up with a new favorite resort, too. LOL!

My brother has a garden view booked but he's trying to eek out one of the bonus view rooms in Tokelau. (x901-x913 or x939-x948) After a lengthy discussion about it this morning before he was off to work, I'm pretty sure he'd prefer 1st floor just to have the convenience of strolling right out to the beach. I think he's going to specify that he does NOT want to be in Rapa Nui to try and curb the chance of getting that lovely parking lot view. We're both sure these are probably the most requested rooms for obvious reasons and don't really count on the having the requested location given to us. It'd be nice and it never hurts to try.

No matter where we end up or how crowded the parks get everything is new to the girls and they're the ones this trip is all about. I don't think it's possible to disappoint them. They've dreamed of this for so long and now it's finally going to come true. I can't wait! :sohappy:

Awesome link Tikiman! Poly is my favorite resort, I wish I had known about your site last year when I stayed there!

Sweetpea, here's some of my favorite Polynesian tips:
-Watch the fireworks from the beach at night! It's fairly uncrowded because there's so many spots and it's very magical. Great way to end a night. You can catch the electric water pageant too.
-Hidden Mickey hunt at the resort, there's a lot of them there! If you need help, grab the Hidden Mickey Guide book from your local bookstore or Amazon. (There are lots in the Polynesian guest rooms that are not listen in the book. It might be fun to let the kids see how many they can find.)
-There's a fun kids drink at the Kona Cafe that comes with a blinking Tinkerbell souvenir. I believe it's on the menu now, but if it's not, you can ask for one. They're really cute!
-Make sure your nieces wear the "First Trip" buttons. Take them into the Polynesian gift shop - when I was there, I got a "special phone call" from mickey & minnie. I was wearing a "Just Married" button. Maybe they do something similar for "First Trip" buttons.

Just a few ideas ~ have a great time!

I like the patios also but if he wants to be on the first floor than I would try for 1914-1910 and not too much farther back. Not that they are bad views but you will have a lot more bushes farther back and your view will be mostly of Hawaii and the pool. Actually if you are going to stay on a lower floor in Tokelau (or request one I should say) than consider the Tahiti side also toward the beach (1915-1920). You won’t see the fireworks unless you are at the corner 1915 but it is a nice view of the lagoon and the Contemporary. So shoot for 1914-1910 first in your request and when you check in, if you don’t get those than see what is available.
These rooms are requested often but Samoa is actually the most requested.

What dates are you going?

So how was your trip there DizneyPryncess?
You know I submitted a few of the hidden Mickey’s to that book. The hardest one was the one in Captain Cook’s

What dates are you going?

Arriving May 24th and departing May 31st. It's shorter than we had hoped for. When my family goes we usually do 9 nights, Friday thru Sunday. School is over for the year in the middle of May but the 12 year old niece is an accomplished ballet dancer and has her big annual finale performance on Saturday the 23rd. My brother didn't want to wait until further into the summer so these are the dates we arrived at. I've never been this late in May so we'll see how it all turns out. Like I said, we keep reminding ourselves that the girls can't be disappointed with any of this trip. It's all new to them.

Thanks for the additional tips, DizneyPryncess. I appreciate it! :animwink:
