Pollo Campero and BabyCakes NYC permanently closing later this month

I don't have a gluten allergy but I have an egg allergy which is life or death... so it is not often that I get to have baked goods.. I will give them a call to order my cake! Thanks :)

so, pollo campero is gone forever? not going to reopen elsewhere?
Wondering this same thing... what a shame I liked Pollo, and I know plenty who like Babycakes. When TDO is obviously struggling, really struggling to find new tenants for Springs (how many have been announced in 12 months? one or two?), it's difficult to believe they are just shutting down two tenants. I hope instead these are getting new locations but if it were so, it would have been announced with the closure.

So we're down to just two quick service in Marketplace, for now.

DTD/Springs needed more QS not less. Have not tried BBQ location on west side yet, or the food trucks, methinks they're trying to get me to walk down all the way down to La Nouba land for some quick dining.
(To get some foot traffic into the fridge magnet store, or whatever is down that way...)

Yup the first one was from there and they started franchising from el Salvador. Breaking bad absolutely loosely based pollo hermanos on this restaurant.

Surprised to see no locations in Mexico. Not only next door, but a growing market.

probably because Mexico as very strong competition.. not only from already known chains like POLLO PEPE and POLLO FELIZ, but also from local vendors who set up their fried, broiled, roasted and bbq chicken stands.

I don't think it is too big. The store needs either be larger so there is room to walk around or they have to thin out the merch they are selling to make more room inside. Either way that store is way too cramped specially in the evenings.
Agree, it's tight moving around in there sometimes --- most of the time!!

Flavorwise, the closest thing that I've had to Pollo Campero fried chicken is actually the Colombian Half Chicken that they have at Paradiso. I would go there to get it but I only allow myself 1 sit down a day and my DTD day I always finish out at Citricos. Gotta save room for that veal shank.
