Valawen9, if you can handle stuff like Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror, Mission Space should be a piece of cake. However, if you have trouble with Star Tours and Body Wars, then you might want to stay away.

a)I don't ride ToT (but I DO ride RnRc and that doesn't bother me.)
b)Star Tours and Body Wars eff up my head bigtime.

Someone tell her that ToT isn't nearly as bad as people think it is. She won't believe me. I'll get her on it somehow even if it means physically dragging her on there against her will.

I'd like to see that happen. Ha.

Well you would be better off sitting M:S out :)

Not necessarily. Body Wars killed me. Always made me feel like I was going to ralf after a ride, but M:S did nothing to me. I got off thinking that it could have been 100x worse.

Interesting. I guess everyone is different. I think that Body Wars is more thrilling than M:S, but most people seem to disagree.

Well, wouldn't bug me one bit if it wasn't there. I got sick for weeks after I went on it. Doc says the ride messed with my inner ear so I couldn't keep my balance because of it. Imagine being dizzy for 3 weeks, not fun. Of course, I know others enjoy it so that is just my humble opinion.

have you ever actually ridden it? its really not that intense

i'd be disappointed if it closed, there's really no other ride in the world like it (i mean, weightlessness? how cool is that?)

I agree its not that intense, but I personally can no longer ride it.

I have chronic severe sinus problems, and everytime I rode M:S, my face felt like it was blowing up like a balloon and I felt like I was gonna pass out due to the pressure created by the high G forces. So even though I very much enjoy the ride, due to my current medical condition, I choose to no longer ride it. The intense G forces do create discomfort for many people and can turn people off to the ride.

I enjoyed the ride, but to be honest I wouldn't care if it closed or not since I can no longer ride it.

That is smart of you to make that choice due to health condition.. problem is, others do not make smart choices.. that is why, unfortunately, there will be another incident associated with this attraction.. And to be fair, with other attractions...

Don't let it go.

Mission Space will not be closed anytime soon. Hundred of thousands, if not millions, of people have ridden it without need for medical care. Two people have died, and we do not yet know what the cause of death was for the second person. Once we have that information, assuming we get it, a more intelligent discussion can occur. Nevertheless, it's a great ride, and the only thing that should be changed, if anything, is the intensity of the G's.

Here's a rather crazy, but effective, idea. Have signs that actually admit that people have died after riding Mission Space, and people with medical issues should NOT ride under any circumstances. Of course, Disney should not admit liability, and the signs may certainly detract from the friendly Disney experience and scare people. Yes, it's a ploy more worthy of Universal and Siox Flags. However, can you imagine the stories people will tell, especially boys between the ages of 10 and 18, about riding the attraction with this level of intensity?

It's just an idea. We'll see if Disney goes with it. I rather doubt it.
