The menu at the new Be Our Guest restaurant at the Magic Kingdom includes beer and wine. This is the first time alcohol will be served at the Magic Kingdom to the general public. Are you in favor of this change?

This topic is being discussed on this thread:

http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/magic-kingdom-no-longer-to-be-dry.850324/

This poll is not intended to replace that thread. I encourage you to post your opinions there. However, numerically, it would be interested to see how popular this new policy is.

i answered "no strong opion". but truly, if it's only served within the restaurant, i'm very much in favor. personally, i wouldn't mind keeping alcohol away from everything else in the mk.

No real strong opinion either way. I'm against it just for the sake of tradition and because it was Walt's intention at the time. I'm not a beer or wine drinker so it doesn't really excite me that they added it to the menu. However my hubby likes a glass of wine or a beer with his meal... and I know most people do. If it stays in the restaurant I'm ok with the change. I'd prefer to keep alcohol in general out of the MK but inside certain restaurants is fine and isn't really going change anything.

No. I will NEVER drink it as far as I know...but I can tolerate it at this one restaurant and I will still go to Be Our Guest and enjoy it...whatever makes Disney more money than they need I am in favor of! (Except when I'm the buyer ;))

As long as it stays in the restaurant setting I am ok with it, but if they start letting you walk around MK with drinks then it will be a no for me.

I hope this change is the tip of the iceberg and there are beer carts everywhere in the MK! I want five flavors of Sam Adams from a cart in liberty square, whiskey pubs in frontierland, oak barrels filled with rum in adventureland and speakeasys on Main Street. There's zero reason why it can be readily access accessible in the other 5 parks but not in the MK.

It's no longer the 50's, people and it most certainly isn't prohibition either. If you want to preach morality, keep it the hell out of my vacation......

Cheers!!! I'll drink to that!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I voted "no", expecting to be in the vast minority.
I just appreciated how "quaint" it was to have one dry park, even in the midst of all the nearby resorts.
As a non-drinker though, my vote is probably not without bias.

My vote goes for no. Mk is fine without out it. I think if it gets to mk in carts etc its going to be a recipe for disaster.

I voted no strong opinion either way, but I do support the move in the "fine dines".

I hate spending what I spend for a "fine dine" at Cindy's Royal Table and not being able to compliment the meal with a glass of wine.

This is just a logical culinary step for a park that, in comparison to the others, has a fairly poor variety of culinary choices (note, I didn't say bad food).

Interesting poll. Seems to be split down the middle.

I don't want to see drink carts and beer in paper or plastic cups (even if the cups still have printed Mickey on them). I voted yes since right now all that was announced is beer and wine at BOG for dinner. I support that and would not mind seeing it at the other table service locations. Anywhere besides that I don't support. So maybe the yes needs to be split into "only at table service for lunch/dinner (no to go service)" and "yes served anywhere similar to the other parks".

Maybe Magic Kingdom should focus on being a park for families with young children? Being THE park? Leave it to Epcot to be the park for the culinary experience?

No vote was no strong opinion either way, but would lean to keeping MK dry.

I certainly appreciate that point. However, I don't see retail of beer or wine in a limited venue "anti-children". Anyhow, it's been hashed and re-hashed in the other thread though. I don't foresee management changing their mind because of us in any case.

While I'd like a glass of wine with a rich dinner, I certainly don't require one, and may not even order one. On my last trip I did a lot of Table Service, and only had wine twice (Jiko and Le Cellier). The rest was water or soda. So, hard beverages really are not a make or break issue for me.

Hence why I voted "no strong opinion".

I can live with it, and don't think it will be noticed much anyway. I don't consider BOG as a watering hole, just a place to have dinner.

Yes
those of you justifying a yes answer by saying "as long as they keep it only in the one restaurant" put WAY too much trust in Disney Management to make sure it stays that way.
