I need a small compact camera for cruising. What do you suggest that gives great quality clear pictures.

I have the Sony HX9V and i love it! I think there is even a better version out at the moment. Here are some sample pictures, no editing at all only resized. All on easy shooting setting.

How much do you want to spend? And what do you intend to use it for.... those questions kind of dictate what people suggest.

If price is not a consideration then you could go for a Sony RX1... large sensor and small camera... but then it would cost you about $2,800 so is for many it isn't worth the price.

Thats the Fuji XP-1 Pro?

It is... I haven't shot with it, but I hear the lenses are pretty impressive. I've always been hearing about guys strapping Zeiss and Leica glass via new adapters now available. I've held the camera and it's well made, absolutely no plastic and real clean lines.

Thoughts on these two. I know they are totally different in their own way from what I am ready but which is more user friendly
Canon S110 vs Sony RX100

hey sorry... should have gone deeper. I'd say the both of them are tic for tac when it comes to user friendliness.

but for me, a Zeiss lens is the way to go. So I give the nod to Sony. Personally, these cameras (for what they are) are out of my price range. A few hundred more and you're into more quality cameras but if size and portability are really important aspects either camera will serve you well. I just think the optics of the Zeiss in the Sony edges the Canon out.
