Honest question....what is the battery life like on a mirrorless P&S? Enough to get someone through a whole day of shooting?
I hope someone else can respond, I have not had mine long enough (though I don't know if they consider it a mirrorless P&S) if so though, I'll have to use it a bit longer to know. I'm fearful the battery life is NOT adequate, as it's a tiny Li-ion. Certainly it will drain if I run the wifi app too much. Which I doubt I will. Worst, I can't even get a 2nd battery anywhere yet as it's a new design.

No, it's terrible. When I had the xpro1 it was about 125 shots and I was in the red.

As opposed to a gripped d7000 which gave me 3 -4 full days shooting(no video or live view )

Thats what I was afraid of. Have a friend whos looking into going that route..but I wasnt sure he would have been happy with a battery life sacrifice.

Although not a P&S, I can get 300 -400 shots on a fully charged battery with the NEX-7 (which has an EVF). I do have an extra battery with me when I know I'll be out all day.

The battery life is a huge factor in why i'm not jumping in to the mirrorless thing yet. I know its not a fair way to judge a system. but I can get around 1000 shots (sans long exposures or live view) on my D7100 on a single battery. The only reason I carry 2 extra is because of the night photography which uses the 2 things mentioned that change the factor, and even then I usually never get past the 2nd pack.

yeah, it was a real PITA to be honest... I picked up the camera a few days before leaving for WDW and didn't even think of a second battery. Twice on the trip I was dead in the water by like 5PM, not fun.

BUT, the files are beautiful. I returned the camera but only because of the AF issues. I was missing shots in clear daylight as the lens hunted and hunted and hunted. BUT, when you did land the focus... phew man, the files blow my Nikon out of the water.
