POC, something I never notice before

We were on POC and all the boats stopped for some reason. We were in the "auction" room. You know "we want the red head." We had a few minutes to really look around. I have never noticed this before. There is a man sitting down next to the actioneer with a pistol in his hand. At one point he shoots across where the men yelling "we want the red head" are sitting and hits a little sign. The sing actually swings after he shoots. I have never noticed this before. Has anyone else?

That was probably the first coordinated effect I ever noticed at WDW, made me pay a lot closer attention on every ride since!

Or the pirate at the well scene who shoots at the mayor's wife, and breaks the flowerpots underneath the window... (which then "magically" mend themselves a few moments later)

Lots of little details like that all over the parks for people to discover if they look at the details.

Yes, that is a nice detail. On a side note, I saw a couple on the ride in front of us on our last trip scramble frantically to get their camera gear covered up before they went under the Davey Jone waterfall.:ROFLOL::lol:

I want to know why the guy in the well doesn't spit water out when he is pulled up. In the Disneyland version he does.

There is a piston that is timed to hit the sign around the same time as the sound effect. If you look at it, there is a divot right in the center which is where it hits from behind.

Maintenance is probably the culprit. For a while, the water that shoots out of the well when he drops down didn't work either.

Maybe im seeing things but I think the locks on the jail cells look like hidden Mickeys.
This is kind of a lucky coincidence and a bit of pareidolia. Authentic locks from that period bear a striking resemblance to a hidden Mickey. The pareidolia comes into play because you are actively looking for things that look Mickey shaped.

We took my mother on the ride for the first time last week. She hates getting wet, and as we approached the waterfall, I put on my serious face and said "Oh mom, I forgot to tell you to wear your slicker on this ride - I'm so sorry." I suppose I'm an awful daughter for tricking her into worrying for those 3 seconds, but it was really funny, and the people behind us laughed too as she held up her park brochure over her head! Luckily she forgave me. :ROFLOL:

It is always fun to go with people who have never been to WDW before. It's fun to watch as they experience things for the first time and do not know what to expect.
