PM Notifications

I keep running into the same problem...I get pop up notifications for messages I've already read over and over until they eventually just stop. Very annoying.

Also, every new PM I get is permanently marked New (no matter how many times I read it) unless I reply to it. Is there any way to change this without deleting every PM I get? One of the reasons I like being a PM is the fact that I can let 'em pile up longer without cleaning house.

there is an option to mark the PM's as read. I run into both of these problems too. Sometimes the only way I can make the popups stop is to delete the read PM...and then sometimes that doesnt even stop it. But at the bottom there is a drop down menu where you can choose mark as read. that will make it stop appearing as new.

Yep, turning the notification off finally fixed it for me. They really are pesky and do not like to go away!

I might just do that. I already have e-mail notification and the graphic in the corner showing any new ones, so I really don't need the pop-ups.

OK. Pop-ups now off. Getting several pop-ups informing me of a message I SENT TO SOMEONE ELSE kinda just did it for me. Steve, your software's a little fruity, boss...but you still rock the planet. :wave:

User CP, Edit Options...it's in the Messages and Notification section

I am having the same problem right now... VERY annoying!
I don´t want to turn the notification off though... otherwise I´ll never know I have a new PM. I just want it to stop popping up! I´ve done all said in this thread, and it´s still there...

I'm also having the same problem...I turned off the notification though because I could just look on top to see if I have anything new. I erased all my messages and even with doing that I get notifications of messages from _______ to _________ :brick:.

Just keep a eye on the top right of the screen, it will tell you there when you have a new message and it will go to a zero when you mark said message as "read"

I guess I will have to take your advice and cancel the notification... I´ve marked all my messages as 'read' and the same last message keeps popping on my screen... ggggrrrrr! It´s driving me crazy.
So if any of you sends me a message and I don´t reaply, please be patient with me, I don´t have the pop up window notification anymore.

You may do this anyway, but when I sign in I first go to User CP to see what replies have been made to subscribed threads, at the top of this list are all unread PMs.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. It must be a glitch, because I've been on many other message boards that use this same software and I've always used pop up notifications and never had a problem with them.
