Pluto Demoted!

Pluto may be still be Mickey's Top Dog, but the "dwarf planet" is in the Solar System's doghouse. Astronomers now state that Pluto is no longer an official planet. Scientists supporting Pluto's former status had a sense of humor about it, apparently:

They are just hard to see. Maybe Jupiter's boyfriend should have spent more on the ring and got a full carat diamond or BIGGER!!!

We'd have been in quite a quandry had they gone the other way and allowed Ceres, Charon, and Xena into the planetary club.

I read that if Pluto, which is pretty much a ball of ice smaller than our moon and is on an assymetrical orbit, is included as a planet than everything from asteroids to other balls of ice would have to be included, something like hundreds of little planets.
