Hey everyone, I saw on the news this morning a video that was posted on YouTube about Pluto chasing a kid and then getting pushed over and walking off upset.

I think this happened at Disneyland not WDW although the newscast was unsure....hadn't heard anything else about it but I was wondering if anyone had any more info on it...

Yeah, I saw this this morning on Fox and Friends. I thought it was really random that they would make the short clip a news iteam. They didn't know anything about it, and like Disneyfan said, there was another thread on it a week or so ago so it's not like it's anything new.

So if you saw some total stranger chasing after your child, you wouldn't step in to protect him?

I'm not arguing that the child probably did something to provoke Pluto. He very well may have done something to warrant a good old fashioned whippin' back at the hotel room. But that is the job of his parents, or whoever else is in charge of him for that trip. Even if he kicked Pluto in the crotch, it's still not Pluto's preogative to go chasing after the kid and trying to lay hands on him. And if I saw someone chasing my kid like I saw in that video, I'd probably push him on the ground, too...even if my kid was in the wrong. However, if my kid DID so something to provoke him, then it WOULD be addressed, but by ME. When we get back to the hotel, I may tan his hide, but I'm certainly not gonna stand there and let some total stranger try to lay his hands on my child.

Well said. Me too.

So to sum it all up, this, and the other thread. We still don't know what is really happening in that video, only that it appears that news channels are getting their stores from Youtub now.

That's nice to know.

I'm just seeing this for the first time and my interpretation is that whoever was in the Pluto costume was just trying to goof around by chasing the kid. Either way, it was a bad decision for him to go running. If something bothered him, he should have walked away right from the start, the way he does after he falls. Yes, it would be nice if everyone who came to the park was respectful, but you have to know when you take a job in a place like this that there will be all kinds of people there on any given day. I think the CM acted immaturely.

Some excuse for bad parenting...

What you're saying is, your kid can do anything he wants to someone...
He/she may kick someone in the nuts, because the other is not allowed to react ???
While you are neglecting to fuction as a good parent...

And all because YOU want to be addressed??? You should 've brought your kids up better!!! If you did, the whole incident wouldn't have happened...

Most parents only start laughing stupidly, because it's seems to be soooooo funny to see how Goofy get's hurt by some brat...

You don't want to know how often these thinge happen to characters...
Some get bitten, spit on, slapped and kicked all in the name of funny entertainment... :(

Don't believe me?? There are people on these forums who had it all...

And Oh yes... It was so hilarious and it was only a character... NOT...

If they can't handle it they shouldn't work at Disney... and their kids...

These kind of parent should be banned for life from the parks...

I didn't get that from what was said. They said they would still beat the kid's @$$, just not let a stranger do it.

No matter how you've raised a child, they're still going to make mistakes and get into situations where they need guidance. The parent should be the one to provide it, not just anyone involved, especially in a heated incident. I don't think anyone was really mad during the chase though. I think maybe the kid and Pluto were a little wound up/hyper, and when he fell over, he pouted. I find it a little hard to watch because it's just so out of place. I'm sure it's hot in those suits, but you have to be able to handle it better than that.

I think you misread sbkline'spost. Besides, there is a big differance between someone saying something to a child about their behavior, and someone chasing after them in order physically teach them a lesson. That kid looks like he's 6, maybe 8, far from being old enough to deffend himself in that kind of situation.
