dont get me wrong, ive enjoyed the Island on occasion, but it seems to be run down and getting trashier and trashier every time i go.

it seems to me, that disney could think of a better way to spend their money. how bout an updated CoP? or an updated SSE, or an updated SM, or an updated GMR, or a new muppets 3d show, the list extends forever.

i know the locals love the place, but GET OUT! ITS MY DISNEY TRIP!:fork:

(sorry).

Yes, but remember, if they update CoP, would it bring in the kind of money that a seperate gate for average 15 bucks or so a person bring in? doubtful. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see more in the parks, but it's all about the bottom line on this one. Plus, the profit PI sees couldn't hurt the parks :)

it's ok... locals go to Citywalk and real clubs before PI...

all PI has that the others done is a retro club and 2 comedy clubs... but no good latin club and the reggae club is certainly missing.

*clears throat* Ok it is MY home, the tourists can have all 4 parks, the 2 water parks, pretty much everything, but if we want PI we are allowed to have it. However, I do not see how ou can say it is mainly for the locals when about 90% of us go downtown not Disney. I do not see how on Earth you can say it is rundown, remember it is a CLUB area it is not meant to represent a theme park. But whatever, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But really what an you REASONABLY expect from a nightclub area?

Laugh Factory

It has been my opinion - and the opinion of many I know - that the Comedy Warehouse alone is worth the price of admission. It is the best imrpov show in the central Florida area. There are others, but none feature as much talent (subjective) or professional audio system, lights, etc. If they ever do close down PI, I'd hope to see the Comedy Warehouse find an adjacent home as a stand-alone show.

Annual passes are priced well, and AP holders can bring in a guest for free on Fridays.

They don't attract as many crowds as they used to back in the day (3 -4 years ago) when they brought big name talent in to do concerts on a near regular basis. When it comes to concerts, I've seen Duran Duran, Bryan Adams, Christina Aguilera, Temptations, Little Richard, Boy George, Jessica Simpson, Enrique Iglesias, and many, many more. Any one of those artists would charge a concert ticket price similar to the AP price.

If they could somehow manage to bring back talent, that might help put them back on the "what's happening" map. But alas, this costs money and consequently - probably won't happen.

It targets a popular demographic and with the right refurbishment and campaigning - it could once again become what it used to be.

Oh well.

My wife and I went to PI the first time in Jan. We enjoyed 8 Trax, and the Comedy Warehouse, but it did appear a little "chep" overall

Jeez.

If you feel that way, then quit yer ' and don't go. One less person in front of me come beer gettin' time.

I go every night during my Disney trips, and even if the place isn't all that busy, I still enjoy myself.

Definitely. We go to PI to visit Comedy Warehouse, and use the clubs as a place to go between shows.

Had a really good time on St. Pats day...

Hi We were there on St. Pats day and had a great time. We bought our tickets from Alamo on a three day park hopper plus, Yes they have a three day pass, no matter who says they don't. It was worth the extra money to go to the Comedy club and the Explorers Club. That club alone, is worth the price of admission. We however , did not stay past 10 since we were doing the parks from opening to close each of the three days.. But I thought it was grrrreat..

I have always had a good time when I go to PI. The last time that I was there I went to the show in the Adventures Club. That was a great time. I have no problem with locals going to PI it adds more to the place.

I say that there is no 3 day Park Hopper Plus pass!!! I sell the things, and there is not one.

There are 1, 2, and 3 day passes for 1 park per day. There are 4 and 5 day Park Hoppers, 5,6,7 day Park Hopper Plusses.

The only thing that is a 3 day pass for park hopping is the Ultimate Park Hoppers, which are for length of stay, that includes everything but mini golf.

Also, possibly some sort of convention ticket or special event ticket (such as cheer competitons), or possibly a special 3rd party ticket.

For many of those artists that you mentioned (Jessica simpson, Enrique..), you had to pay a separate ticket fee to get into that concert as it was part of Jingle Ball, I believe. Christina Aguilera, on the other hand, performed for free as she was an upcoming artist then. PI has had some recent up and coming artists as well recently, but some of them you may not have heard of simply because they never quite made it to the heights that Christina has.

It doesn't take money for Disney to get these artists/talent in..it's the artists who pay money to perform there. However, all established artists/talent of any kind would rather fill up a venue and get a comission from the ticket sales then play at a place where there are no ticket comissions. On top of that, the up and coming artists/talent tend to overlook Pleasure Island as a prime performance spot simply because in the long run, it doesn't really help their sales too much.

I'm not quite sure how Disney can salvage Pleasure Island. However, what they are missing, is a decent top40 Club which could feature world-famous DJ's. Most cities have them (Orlando has a few); I don't see why Disney can't create the best. They have the resouces, it's just a matter of planning and better management.
