Please tell me these are not typical Americans!

Having spent more than 18 months on Ellesmere Island, I'd recommend it as a really nice place! Other than one unfortunate incident [you can read background on my personal web page - not a "Disney" kind of story], I always had a great time up there.

Was it that frostbite thing you mentioned somewhere?

Yes. Didn't want to depress anyone here - and now you've gone and...

Amongst other things, it means I can't do this: :drevil:

But life is still a lot better than the alternative

...as I recall, a majority of Americans cannot find their home state on a map of The United States. So, sadly, this sort of thing is not atypical.

Ah, so I have nothing to worry about. :lookaroun

Stale Timbits!

Plus our beaver army, the Mounties, and submarines... that don't really work... and helicopters... that also don't really work...

Hey, I've seen one of your submarines. The HMCS Ojibwa docked on Mother's Day in Boston a number of years back. My grandmother wanted to walk the Freedom Trail that day and we ended up over at the Charlestown Navy Yard shortly after they had arrived in port. Ended up with a hat from their sub.

Sorry to interrupt your thread drift.

Sadly, this is typical of about 49% of Americans. That's why we have out current President. (Sorry for politicizing).

It was funny until I read the comments, then I just got really disappointed...

Don't be too disapointed. Every country has their fare share of morons. Take this comment for example: "i knewed american people were stupid.... but this much???? this is ridicolous!!!! americans instead of making another war... go to school and learn something!!!" :hammer:

The video may or may not accurately reflect the quality of American education...however I think it was deliberately edited to make us all look stupid. After all the guy with the microphone is British. They like making jokes about Americas' intelligence just as much as we like making jokes about their teeth...and drinking habits. ;)

But you're Canadian... you're not allowed to be evil...:lookaroun

Actually, that was a tactless reference to not having fingers. :o

Can't point to the corner of my mouth with a finger if there aren't any.

:lookaroun

Sorry, I've had 14 years to come up with a really warped sense of humour. :D

What I find odd, watching the movie again, is that the guy conducting the interview labeled Australia as North Korea, Iran, etc.

At the same time, it wasn't so surprising.

I feel ashamed, but incredibly intelligent at the same time. Please, I beg you to believe that we aren't all so uncultured.
