PLEASE tell me it isn't so!?

The fewer times you have gone the fewer negatives will be noticed. Even when they are noticed the emphasis is not placed on them because the positives far outweigh them.

Even though, on occasion, I have been critical of some of the things going on I have gone on record saying that, overall, I think the place is nicer. The overall beauty of landscaping and layout is far nicer then it was years ago. A lot of changes have happened in 14 years, some were not for the better, many were. As mentioned by others, don't even think about what others have said, go and make your own observations. Everyone sees things differently. I'm sure you'll have a great time. :)

It isn't so.

Everyone comes to this forum for their own reasons. Some come to "talk shop" and express the need for improvements and changes at WDW. That's alright, as this forum represents a rather large table. If anyone allows the discussion of certain topics to dictate their mood or outlook, then they have relinquished their right to formulate an opinion. Example? We are often subjected to local TV news stories here in South Florida regarding auto accidents that occur in places such as Kansas. If one were to accept that which was being fed, then South Floridians would cower in their homes due to the dangerous road conditions such as those in Kansas. Negative news sells, and there are times when more negative thread discussions attract attention.

Some folks come on to this forum to express a degree of discontent with TDO, and that's OK. It's their focus and purpose in coming here. Others log on to express other things, and that's OK. We just need to keep things in perspective.

I wouldn't worry about any sort of appointment's. I went last year for the first time in 13 years; there were different things for us but not "BAD" different. I can only tell you that we were amazed and in awe as entered out resort, and again amazed and in awe as we entered each of the 4 parks. Its DISNEY for crying out loud!! :) I have never let the negative comments on here or any where else effect my trip. As we are leaving in 18 days for our second trip in as many years I am excited to see the new and the old and will never complain or be negative about anything.

Go into the parks looking to have a great time, not expecting to be disappointed. So there is a lightbulb not on, or your ride stops for a couple minutes. Move on. We have been going for nearly 30 years now and have never come away let down.

No you won't be disappointed. Especially if you haven't been in 14 years. The only folks who get disappointed are the ones who go 3 or 4 times a year. It doesn't matter what it is, if you do something that often, it's gonna lose its luster. Trust me, you'll have a blast and there'll be tons of stuff you've not experienced yet. Have a great time!

Go. Have fun! I was 31 years and three parks between trips. I read forums for months before my trip and was actually pleased and awed to find that despite many things that could be better, it was still better than what I remembered.

Don't leave your critical eye at home though. It's important to let customer service know when something is wonderful and when it isn't. You are a guest and deserve the best they have to offer. That's all the "negative" posters on this board or any other are saying. ENJOY!

Forget everything you have read on these boards like it was Bobby Ewing stepping out of the shower on Dallas. A few weeks back a poster actually wrote that he went to WDW and was 'looking for things that are wrong' and then posted about it. Heck, when I go on vacation I want to see the good, and that is what I focus on. I am not going to stress because there are handprints on a window, chipping paint on a guardrail or a drink cup crushed on the side of the walkway. These things won't take away from my experience, but for some people who post here it is evidence of 'Disney declining be degrees.'

In your mind focus on the family, the memories and remember that for any fault Disney has, it is still the most magical place on earth. Then go do it.

I'm one of those regulars that get too visit about 6 times a year, and let me tell you that I have yet to be disappointed in the experience. Disney is still a fun and magical place despite what you may read on here. I've come to learn to take what is said on here with a grain of salt and judge for myself. Have fun!!

People tend to post negatives more often then positives. Look at the bright side you will be at Disney. They don't do everything right but they do, due a lot right! Its like the glass is half full or half empty. Look for the good and don't worry about everything else. Some people no matter what can't be pleased.

I'm never disappointed in my trips to WDW. I get disappointed with THINGS that happen during my trip (seeing Splash in such a sad state disappointed me, the food at a certain restaurant disappointed me, not seeing the headless horseman ride before the Halloween parade disappointed me...) but the trip as a whole was not disappointing.

I think most people (I know I am) are disappointed with the fact Disney can do so much more to help spruce up the parks and it's frustrating because they don't. It seems though with the FLE and Disney Springs on the way that they are taking a step in the right direction, but this step is LONG overdue.

They increase park tickets yet don't give you new attractions and hardly keep maintaining the old ones (the Laughing Place on Splash anyone?) they cut some meet and greets, keep an old parade.. They increase dining prices while the food quality declines.. They raise resort prices yet cut EMH, a perk to staying on property. It just to me feels sometimes that with all these increases, where is all the money going? They keep cutting things to make more profit, but they profit should be used to keep creating more magic. Obviously they are spending to expand MK and create Disney Springs, but that's obviously not ALL of Disney's profits. That's only a fraction of them.

Disney is not the run down traveling carnival some people make it out to be. The parks just don't look as awesome as they used to and I think that is what frustrates people the most. But as far as coming away disappointed, you won't. Not unless you go in looking for everything that's wrong.

Take a deep breath and go into the trip wtih an open mind to enjoy the World as it is today.
If you go in looking to be disappointed you will be.
If you go in looking at the world as you remember it when both you and the World were 14 years younger, you will be disapointed.

There is plenty of magic there. It's just different than it was in 1999. There are so many new things for you to see and explore. Go and enjoy.

i have livedin north carolina so I am happy I have been able to 24 times people think you get tired of disney but I never do maybe it's because I am 13 but i think it is because disney is constantly changing but somehow always keeps it's magic. Since this will have been 14 years I think you should have a great time there.
