Hi, guys!
Well, I guess my trip is finally confirmed! And I will leave Brazil on Dec 1st! :sohappy: As I am going by myself, I am worried about some... details:

- The travel agency gave me 3 options of hotels (for the price I could pay), and I decided to stay at Sleep Inn Maingate, on US 192. Does anyone have any experiences at this hotel?
- What I am really worried about is transportation, as I don't drive, so I will have to get around by bus. Does anybody know that area, like if there are good options for buses? If I go to Pleasure Island, is there any way to go back to my hotel, late at night? Any chances of taking a bus? (I don't have much money for taxis, you know)

Any tips would help me a lot! 3 days to go!!!!!!!!!!! :sohappy:

Thanks for the help, guys! I will call the hotel and ask about the shuttle buses. But I really don't think that if I stay at WDW until late at night (DTD, for example) there will be any buses to pick me up...

You are probably correct in saying that the hotel buses will not run for late nights at pleasure island. You may have to go the way of a taxi.

Hi!! No real advice, other than I know that some other wdwmagic'ers will be there around the same time-- I know wannabebelle will be there, so give her a PM and maybe y'all could meet up!! She's wonderful! And also a word of confidence for going solo-- I have been solo many many times, and love it! You get to meet so many different people, and set your own pace... Have a great time!

This is good advice, along with a bunch of cast members you can
"run into" also.

Have a great trip!

Yes, yes, I admit... I'm a trouble magnet too...

Cool! I am not by myself as a trouble magnet!!!

Thanks for the advice, Missy! Belle is a great friend of mine, and we have already arranged to meet there! I agree with you, it's gonna be awesome to do everything I want, at my onw pace!!!

Do you know if taxis are too expensive from WDW to US 192? It's pretty close, but I have no idea about taxi fares there... Are there plenty of taxis? I heard somewhere that taxis are not very easy to find...

The taxi fare from Downtown Disney to W192 is going to be pretty hefty. I would really suggest (if it is not too late for you to change your reservations) you look at trying to stay at a Disney Value resort during the time you are going to be here. Usually with a "code" you can get a deal for $50-60 a night. It's probably $20 or so more per night than what you are paying at the Sleep Inn, but especially if you are worried about the transportation (and travelling alone, I would be) it will be worth the extra money. The transportation to and from places like this off-property can be pretty spotty. A few missed vans and cab rides later, you will have made up the difference in what it would have cost you to stay on-property. I'm sure someone here would glad to help you find the current codes...or check www.mousesavers.com. You have to be careful when working with SOME (not all) travel agents. They can put you in a cheap motel that you don't really know about, and pass the "savings" along to themselves. I'm not saying this is what has happened to you, but beware. I don't know anything specifically about the Sleep Inn on 192W, but I CAN tell you from personal experience that there are a lot of dumps on that stretch of highway. I have even found one of the Ramada properties on 192W to be below my standards of cleanliness, etc. so if it were me, I would be careful with the B & C-list places. Just my $0.02 worth, but I have a bit of experience in this area. So take it for what it is worth.

Thanks for the advice! But my trip is already too expensive, and I really can't afford anything extra... I think I will just have to avoind going out late at night...

Should that be the case, it will leave you fully refreshed for the following day's park touring :D

Oh, by the way, I won't stay at the Sleep Inn anymore... The reservation was not confirmed. So I will probably stay at International Drive, which is farther from WDW, but better for me to take buses. Anyway, I think I will survive! :D

It's good you will have buses from there as a taxi would be stupid money.
