Please Help... Resort question

We were at the World last week and were able to book a bounceback offer for next year with the free dining.
We booked the Animal Kingdom Lodge, here's my issue we can do a week at AKL with Savannah view, or 2 weeks at the Caribbean beach or Port Orleans. What would you do?

We need time for things to happen.
At AKL, we parked, walked in the lobby, down the hall, in an elavator, down a hall, turn, down a hall, etc. to get to the room. After a full day at the parks, this walked seemed like 100 miles. And 2 weeks beats 1 week all the time.

OMG - this i no joke, at AKL last time we ended up with the last possible room distance wise (thank God on the lobby level but even so) it was nice because we had a great view of 2 savannahs, but after a day of tearing up the parks the walk all the way from the parking lot (which is farther than just about any resort) through the lobby all the way to the last room!! Wow...

Anyway - 1 week or 2?? no matter where you're staying is a....
- NO BRAINER - you go for the 2!!
Like you said, you can take a day or two and just chill by the pool, resort hop, go to US and still have more than enough time to kick the h3!! out of WDW.

HAVE FUN - DUH!!

When you have two weeks, you can take the time to ...people watch. I never have the time to just sit at a park and relax. Also, think of the resort hopping activities...visiting each gift shop, finding each resort pool, riding the monorail, Grabbing great spots three hours before any parades or shows. Maybe we'll get to do that someday. sigh. Have a great time!!!

I would definitely go with the two-week plan.

Also, AP's are a great idea. We actually often work in 3 trips when we have those. Week 1 and week 50 or so, + a quick dash over when visiting the inlaws in Cocoa at Christmas.

do you think 2wks is to long, should we do 10 days.?
No it's perfect. You will noever have to rush to anything and you will absolutely be able to do all you want. We were just there for 9 days and missed a bit. DS was looking at park maps 2 days ago and pinted out a few things that we missed (Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Indiana Jones, Lights Motors Action show). The things at DHS we missed were all due to TSM wait times which is hard to explain to a 4 year old. If we had gone for longer we wouldn't have missed a thing.

Stay two weeks. I prefer POFQ.

Can you get the dining for free if you switch? Just curious.

I'd go with the 10-day hopper and use the extra days to relax at the pool and hit DTD or add Water Parks and More and use the water parks for those extra days. You can do Sea World, Universal or other area attractions, but that requires a car or taxis.

Yes when I called to ask that same question, they said yes I could switch our resort and still get the free dining because we were not making a new reservation, we would just be modifiying it.

Along with the crowd, I would definitely stay two weeks--that's a dream come true! I don't share the general enthusiasm for POR, however. While POFQ is smaller with a convenient food court, I found the rooms to be small and dark. I just like CBR much better. And now with the new pool...can't wait to go back! I also think the suggestion of using water park days to extend your 10-day ticket makes a lot of sense.
