Or we can't go!!! I am planning a small trip in Oct. 2010 and want to do 3 nights at disney in a value resort with dining plan...no park hopper or water parks. It is $1693 which DH says is WAY to much for 3 nights...and I kind of agree.

Help me lower the bill!!
Any discounts I don't know about???

The dining plan is usually free during that time. I don't know how many people you have, but that should get to closer to $1000.

That does not seem right to me. My husband and I are going for 10 nights, with 9 day park hopper & waterpark fun and more tickets and we paid between $18-1900. Of course this is with the free dining plan though. I just went to disneyworld.com and did a 3 night package at a value with the deluxe dining plan and 3 day regular park tickets for $1250. Not sure how you are coming up with 1600. Can you give us some more details and maybe we can help you out?

need dates, number of people, ages of children please.

This far out the only discount would be AAA, and you would need to contact AAA if you want a MYW package with dining plan.

I agree! We just did four nights in the tower at the Contemporary, dining plan for 2 adults and 1 child and 5 day park hoppers. Even with the 2010 rates, there's only about $1k difference in what we paid for all of that compared to your $1693 at a value with fewer people and fewer days. Are you sure about that number?

I just priced Pop Century for three nights in a preferred room, 4 day regular tickets, dining plan for two, and I got $1384. So, that's two quotes lower than your number. Are you adding something else to this?? We'd love to help you on this!

I'd say give Kingdom Konsultants a call, they do this for a living, and not only will they find you the best deal, if a BETTER deal comes up before your trip, they'll rebook you.

Ok I have 4 people...2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 4) and an infant but she won't count. I don't have the preferred room checked.

We went in 2007 with one less person for a week and had a rental car and the bill was $2200 so I was expecting it to be alot lower with no rental car and only 3 nights.
I don't think we would be elligible for free dining with only a 3 night stay right?

I was getting $1673 for Movies, with dining plan for 4 (since your 4 yr old would be on the plan) and 3 day park tickets with no extras and 4 days.

I know I am going for 3 days but got the room only special that is for Aug-Oct, so you will have offers coming up when you get into the new year.

Okay, that's making more sense now! :)

I would talk with Kingdom Konsultants and see what they say. You can also just wait for a while and see what kind of deals come out.

For us, we've usually found that the AAA discount came out better than what Disney was offering (except in 2006 and we got free dining) at the time of our trip. But to use AAA and do a package, you have to use an AAA agent. Any agent (or yourself) can get the discount on room portion only, but then you couldn't do dining.

Like others have said no promotions are out for that time period and nothing will be out for quite some time. What I might be able to help you with immediately is a few reasons why your price is much higher than you expected. Part of it is your 10 year old's fault. The difference in ticket price from a 9 year old to a ten year old is only $35 but the difference in price for the dining plan is significant.....around $30 per day. Right off the bat you are looking at a $125 increase. Also Disney has changed the pricing policy on their rooms. In the past weekends were the same as weekdays and that is no longer the case. Rates for Friday and Saturday night stays can be significantly higher that the rest of the week. Lastly you have a 3 year span between trips. Room and ticket prices rinse around 4%-6% per year.

If you can give me your exact travel date I would be more than happy to give you a quote and see if there is anyway to immediately shave off a few bucks here and there. Also if you book with Kingdom Konsultants we keep track of all of Disney's promotions and if one comes out that you qualify for we will automatically rebook you at the lower rate.
