Plaza Restaurant in MK - thoughts??

I trying to find out more about the experience eating at this restaurant. We pass it every time we go from Main Street to Tomorrowland and it is always packed but we have never eaten there. WE do not have the Dining Plan but use Tables in Wonderland so I don't know if it is accepted here or not. If not it will be out of pocket. When at MK, we try to eat at Cosmic Rays because of the variety but are getting tired of the same old thing and thought this might be a good alternative. Can anyone tell me your experiences with this restaurant? Do we need reservations? Is it really expensive paying out of pocket? thanks!!

I'd suggest going, it is a nice place to have a simple meal. The dining area is very small, so I'd suggest arriving as soon as it opens to avoid the crowds. If you do, I doubt you'd need a reservation but it wouldn't hurt.

Compared to all of the high capacity food outlets in the park the Plaza is downright quaint, and seems like a throwback not only to the Victorian era of the theming but also to the more simple days of the Magic Kingdom's early years.

The food is pretty basic, just a few sandwiches, but it tastes good because it isn't mass-produced on the same scale as most Disney restaurants. Cost is also pretty reasonable, and this is one of the places where I'd pay out of pocket even if I was on the dining plan.

I agree 100%. I wish I could think of something to add but, IMHO, you summed it up extremely well.

We ate there for the first time this past October, and we really enjoyed it. We did have ADRs, and they were needed that night. We had a nice view of the castle from where we were sitting, the waitstaff was great, and the food was simple, but done very well. I had the Philly Cheesesteak, DH had the Rueben, and my DDs had a burger and the grilled chicken sticks. My oldest DD also ordered the tomatoe soup, and it was amazingly good. For dessert the girls each had a Mickeylodeon (adorable!), and DH and I shared a brownie Sundae.

All in all, the price was very reasonable, the service was good, and the food was excellent. I

The Plaza is wonderful. They dish up simple, good food without all the crowding of Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bills. The service is always great, too.

I made an ADR there for the first time for next month and I hear great reviews about it! I will be on the DDP, but I will be paying out of pocket for this meal since the prices are are not bad at all. I can't wait to try the fries, I hear they are some of the best in WDW! :)

we like it. we have APs and use our tables in wonderland card which makes it similar in price to quick service. nothing fancy. burgers, clubs, etc. but good. love the plaza brownie sundae (which you cant get at the ice cream counter)!

It's good old comfort food, burgers, fries, milkshakes. Even though it's simple food it's delicious. You can use TIW for the Plaza. This is always on our list of dining destinations.

We ate a meal and it was good. I had the club sandwich. However, now we don't go there for a meal-but not because it wasn't delicious-just prefer other places. When we go we all get a large order of fries to share and milkshakes-some of the best and they bring you the metal mixer cup with the leftovers-the best part! Also, because this varies by region--if you want a chocolate milkshake with a vanilla ice cream base and chocolate syrup you have to order a black and white.

This has turned into one of our must-do's but we always pay for it. To us it's not worth spending the dining credit, we will pay here and use that dining credit to use at CRT. The sandwiches are really good and the ice cream is awesome. It is a small place but we always have ADR, if you don't have ADR I suggest gooing right when they open for lunch or try for early dinner

It's good casual fare. I think the food is nice, but I avoid the restaurant because it seems like it's always packed to the rafters. Nevertheless it's my favorite of the Magic Kingdom's paltry offerings where table service eateries are concerned. I wish they did breakfast.

They do accept TiW. The prices are already reasonable, but with TiW, you will get large portions for a very reasonable price.
I enjoyed the food there greatly. We had an early lunch there in 2011. The Mayor of Main St made an appearance also.

We've enjoyed the food at the Plaza but the last time we ate their we felt like sardines in a can. Just way to many people crammed into a small dining room. I could've reached over and eaten off the table next to us if I wanted too. It's been a few years since that last visit so I don't if it's gotten better though.
