Planning for 2007 already!

We are already thinking ahead to our 2007 trip. We've pretty much decided on Grand Floridian with the dreammaker platinum package. I know I know, but we really want to do it up big this time. We'll be celebrating both mine & DH's birthdays and our 12th anniversary down there. The deciding factor was actually the in room child care. Our youngest son will only be a little over 2 when we go. Anyway, my question is....how soon can we book this package? We want to book as soon as we possibly can so we can start paying on it. Thanks for any info!

Hi there! Congrats!! This sounds like a plan and a half. Id contact Pam of Kingdom Konsultant and ask her as she does this sort of thing alll the time. There is no charge for her services to assist you in booking your trip. Her number is 1866-566-7858 and her webiste is on the home page for WDWMagic as she is the travel sponsor for the boards!! We do the same package....it's worth it STEAK AND LOBSTER EVERY NIGHT. Take advantage of ordering anything/everything off the menu. We also take advantage of renting the mouse boats and pontoon boats. You will love being spoiled. This year we flipped a coin and welll....we are doing the Land and sea (3/4) wonder cruise, staying in the walt disney suite. This would've cost the same if we did the platinum grd fla for 7days (our usual). I think you will have fun. We book a year in advance, any earlier they tend to mess things up (1 time they did the wrong year when we tried booking earlier)...be advised the rates usualy aren't posted until October the year prior; but they will set you up, take the Deposit, and then set the rates when they are released.

I hope this helps...

I am like you. I am planning a trip for 2008. We have always camped off site and now I want to be at the Polynesian. It will be my 50th birthday and our 30th anniversary. So I want to do it right. but I also want my sister and her family to go with us. There will be at least 12 people going on this trip.

Sounds like a lot of fun! It's good to plan these things so far in advance and pay in advance, that way there's less stress of how to pay for it when the trip actually comes (something I am guilty of every trip). But, I'd have a hard time booking that far in advance for this reason only, it would be so hard to have to wait 3 or 4 years anticipating it! I have a hard time waiting 6 months! When the trip is actually booked, I just get so excited and can't wait to start really planning.

Planning Way Ahead.... works for me.

I read with interest everybody's long-term planning for major visits to WDW, and I finally realize - I am not alone! I am leaving for Disney Paris in a month, but am pre-planning up to (gasp) three years in advance, for three more visits to this enchanting beautifully-landscaped Disney creation. Buying an extra Two-Day Park Hopper for use now and...later, when in two years...:dazzle:

Will be working towards October 2006 with the Halloween visits AND the Big Night's Party w/an overnight's stay at (probably) The Sequoia Lodge in DLRP. Buying an Annual Pass at this time. Then, two times to DLRP in 2007, spring and September, both trips within the annual pass' end-date parameter. getting my full use out of the annual pass - and a guilty pleasure in pin trading LOL.

They suggested in DLRP to check in April or May/06 for an October/06 hotel reservation. And buying a Two-Park Hopper Pass to the parks there now, gives me a paid day towards the annual pass itself, with the two-Day Pass being good for three years, from that buying date. I hope still...

<sigh> Contentment in knowing some things are being taken care of, way in advance and not ALL AT ONCE....

I am glad I am not the only one who plans ahead! Next trip is hoped to be autumn/winter of 2006 as we are saving up our Nectar points and our Virgin flying club miles, before then we are going to Dubai :sohappy:

You probably won't be able to book until late 2005/early 2006. My adivce would be to open up a totally new bank account and put the money for the vacation in there. This way not only do you save up what you need, you get a little bit of interest to help you out.

That's exactly what I did. It works great! I strategically planned to open the second account at Bank One so I could use the ATM's in the parks too. It worked so well for me in July that my mom is gonna do it for our trip in November. I think this is an excellent idea.
