Hello,

It looks like I'm going to end up with an extra dining credit for a sit down meal. This is not a big deal, it will provide me the total excuse to try out one of the high end restaurants.

Now the question is, which 2 dining credit experience is the biggest value? I'm also OK with the requirement for proper outfit for the occasion.

We loved the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club. Many people really enjoy the California Grill and Artist Point is always a nice meal.

We actually have the same issue. We're just not sure how we want to "spend" them.

For some of the high end places we were thinking maybe California Grill, Le Cellier, or maybe a GF place.

Could not stand the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review. There was hardly anyone there and we did not like the food. Oh well to each there own I know lots of people love the place. I don't think it's worth two credits.

When we were there this August we planned and went to the California Grill, been there before and it is a wonderful experience, kids loved it (especially 16 yr old DS) and in addiiton you get to see the fireworks from the outside terrace with music. It was well worth 2 credits!

We always do the Hoop-Dee-Doo when we're not on the Dining Plan, and I can highly recommend it as a fun night out!

This time (with the plan) we're going to re-visit the Luau at the Polynesian, and I believe that is using 2 credits. We haven't been in 10 years or so, and, despite some negative reports, we're looking forward to it again.

Whatever you decide, it's what you make of it that counts!

HAVE FUN!

Wow, thanks for all of the advice so far. I reviewed some of the menus from the link above and it all sounds extremely good.

So, now for the counter service, where can you get good food that isn't a burger or chicken sandwich? I'd like to avoid the stuff I could get at my local Six Flags.

Hello again,

As I've been reviewing menus, I can't find the menu for the counter service restaurant in Mexico at Epcot. I feel the value at that place is pretty high, as their combo meals come with a taco and another item, rice, beans, and a chero. Not to mention the drink is a good size.

Where can I find the menu for that place? Also, what other places around Epcot and the rest of WDW offer such value. I'm sick of burgers and fries, I can go to Portillos for that.

Counter service in Mexico is called the Cantina de San Angel...

For lunch we usually eat at Marrakesh, but that isn't counter service, its a table service place. My oldest love the Lotus Blossom Cafe , I hear good things about Sunshine Seasons, but I haven't eaten there..yet.
People love the Garden Grill, but that is a TS place , with characters.

Meega, nala kwishta!
I'd say try out Jiko as well. But for more than just the food. Jiko has great food, super service, one of the best wine lists available (including the largest South African wine selection in the US). But beyond all that, it's at Animal Kingdom Lodge. And if you haven't visited that resort yet, you're in for a treat.

You can use the oportunity of the dining, to walk around the resort afterwards, see the animals in the savannas, join in a campfire storytelling session, even use the night vision googles if they are out then.

Make the whole evening an experiance. :D

Have fun and good eating!

We ate at the flame tree bbq in the animal kingdom,It was very good and a lot of food. The bbq sauce was yummy ,only downside were the ducks and herons around the tables. They were really cute for one minute, then they were really quite rude!whatever you do,do not offer them any food ,you may find your entire lunch gone!

The Flame Tree BBQ, I forgot about that place. I'll have to make that my choice if I'm at Animal Kingdom around lunch.

I've eaten at the buffet at Animal Kingdom Lounge. Boma I think was the name. It was pretty good. I won't be doing that again this trip. I'm visually impaired and going solo. Buffets just don't work if you're lacking vision. Since I've never had African wine, I may have to check that out.

I didn't know google had night vision :)

I also didn't know they had entertainment at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Story telling is interesting, but what else is available? I may have to consider staying there on a short trip in the future.
